I guess they were right to hire a security guard. I wonder what would have happened to that manager if the guard hadn't been there (don't know if the manager was armed).
I also guess they need to hire better people, seeing as the two arrested were employees...

I think the suspects were identified BY Apple store employees, not AS Apple store employees.

The story says they were id’d BY employees, not AS employees. So I guess those employees in the store at the time of robbery id’d the perps who were caught in the alley.

The suspects were positively identified by Apple store employees, according to Chula Vista police.

I hope that the two surviving perps are charged with murder.

OOPS!
Misread the article I was posting! They were positively identified by Apple Store employees, not as Apple Store employees. Sigh. Don't post in a hurry would be the takeaway lesson here.

Kudos to the guard. It’s obvious this guy was the real thing, not your run-of-the-mill Paul Blart rent-a-cop.
The fact that an Apple iStore needs armed guards tells us something about the state of affairs in San Diego. Apple stores are found in upscale shopping drags. Not in the hood.

Who said they were employees? The article stated they were positively identified BY employees.

This is why they should have stolen a car.
Probably went right to the address of the getaway car.
I always thought the armed guards in Verizon, ATT, Apple stores etc were to keep disgruntled customers in line when they were receiving ‘shoddy service’.
BTW ID’d by employees, not as....sarc///sarc... get my chance to ‘beat the dead horse’ <: <: <:

Officers entered an alley between two buildings and pulled out two people. So the suspects didn't manage to reach their iPad.

Probably not the kind of Apple related news you’re interested in, but I thought I’d ping you just in case you are interested in this story.
