La Crosse-area activists submitted signatures today to the Government Accountability Board for the recall of Sen. Dan Kapanke, R-La Crosse, the first of eight ongoing recall efforts against eligible GOP senators to be turned in.
The volunteers submitted some 21,700 signatures, well over the 15,588 minimum, with 33 days left before the official deadline. State Dem Party officials called the submission "the most expeditious triggering of a recall in Wisconsin state history."
"When we realized how well we were doing, we were feeling pretty confident and we needed to move forward and move on to our next chapter, which is getting a candidate ready to go defeat Senator Kapanke, recall volunteer Richelle Zimmerman said of not waiting the full 60 days to collect signatures.
If the signatures are verified, it would be only the fifth recall of a legislator in state history.
Kapanke's voicemail was full this afternoon, and the Committee to Elect a Republican Senate did not respond to a request for comment.
Amazing, the writer managed to not use the word election in his story.
Win or lose, Senator Kapanke will always know he did what he thought was right. And, that’s all that matters.
"Sign here and we won't use this bat on your kneecaps."
Why can’t the GOP return the favor in districts that had close elections of Rats?
Where are the recall petitions for the Dems who fled the state?
Not even one?
So Wisconsin: are you going to let the Unions force you into serfdom?
I’m under the impression that efforts are underway for all RAT senators who can be recalled.
Kapanke is a loser, if you ever heard him speak. He has parsed and “nuanced” about cheating on his wife. He talks endlessly about G-d and the Bible for public piety, but it is doubtful that he ever encountered either.
It is sad to lose a Conservative vote, but no conservative can really support Kapanke on the basis of values.
I expect that voter fraud will be used highly by the Dems in the recall elections. Democrats excel in voter fraud. They have been doing it for years. Wonder if the SOS is a Republican?
Recall petition drives are underway for the eligible rats, but there is still quite a bit of time for the petitions to be circulated and turned in.
Unfortunately, the unions are being very aggressive in trying to stop people from circulating petitions against the eligible fleebaggers.
Meanwhile the fleebaggers have no idea what is about to hit them.
Why waste time on a recall with an election coming up?

Where did you get the information that he cheated on his wife. Never heard of it...
Don’t want to hear your f... negativity. We have a lot at stake in Wisconsin and are under assault by union thugs and liberal powermongers. This young guy got death thrats and his car was vandalized. Remember that this recall is for voting for fiscal sanity while the lefties ran from the state are now breaking down the separation of legislative vs judicial power. I’ll worry about his personal cr*p when Ivan stop worrying about leftist union thugs intimidating my side and running the state into the ground.
The Dems were allowed to “snowball” their recall petitions (Different groups are allowed to combine their cumulative petitions as long as they fall within the 60 day period)
I think that there will be some Dems recalled soon.
Unfortunately, Doug La Follete, the WI SOS is a bigtime RAT and enviro-loony.
We all fall short in the eyes of the Lord.
>> And, thats all that matters.
Why so “past tense”?
