There is a fascinating concept in Jungian psychology called the "collective unconscious." While the "personal unconscious" stores our own unique memories, the "collective unconscious" is the reservoir for an entire culture.
It's amazing how certain people and phenomena find their way into the collective unconscious, whether intentionally or not. For instance, take the term, "googling." Those young Stanford dudes didn't realize that they would not only change the nature of Internet searching, they'd add a new word into the vocabulary.
People may choose to search via Bing or Yahoo, but nobody "bings." So why did googling sweep the nation? Perhaps Google is a superior search engine. But it may simply come down to being in the right place at the right time.
There are people who become overnight sensations, both for good and nefarious reasons. Back in the 60's, everyone was familiar with those evil people who comprised the Manson Family.
And when Joe the Plumber asked Obama a question, he was suddenly famous (and subject to government investigations). While very few people outside of Alaska heard of Sarah Palin a few years ago, she became a household name as soon as she entered the national arena.
And then there's the "birther" controversy. The progressives have controlled and framed the concept right from the get-go. This has been one of the many issues (including "tea baggers") that the left has seized upon to tar conservatives.

There is a LEGITIMATE QUESTION concerning O’s eligibility.
PERIOD.
Those “conservatives” and RINOs that belittle us are part of the PROBLEM.
They are NOT part of any SOLUTION.
White Hut
damn, thats art.
I blame the refusal of the Obamanoids to confront the issue for all the internet clutter that has accumulated about this subject over the last 3-4 years.
It has beciome almost a full-time job to keep up with it all.
Where no man or women dared to go ... they obviously got the memo. Thinking of course of conservative talk radio Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, et al..
“birther”?
I believe he was born, there’s evidence of that.
But I’m a “proofer”, I’d like to see some evidence of this guy’s origins and past to show that he’s actually eligible for the office he holds.
You can see what people are reacting to. They are thrilled with someone taking off the kid gloves and their protective helmet, getting off their dead butt and fighting back.
It is worth it. Time to start slapping some duct tape across the mouths of Obama’s shills and think about saving the country.
Tough job, but somebody has to do it before it is too late.
Obama is not a legitimate President and many more people are waking up to that fact. His daddy was not an American citizen at the time Obama was born.
birther is short for birth certifcate
Oh man... that bugs the heck out of me too. Always feels the need to make a grand entrace. However, there is nothing grand about him. Out of his league and in over his head.
I use “documenter” but”proofer” works for me too.
I simply go wild when the Left tries to define us or label us as this or that.
Linking us to 9-11 truthers was the last straw.
You have pumped me up even more. I can’t wait!
Given how much Trump likes the ladies, I think he should offer a million dollars to any woman who can establish she dated Barry O before he met Michelle. Barry was around 28 when he Michelle met and married her at 31. So being a red blooded American male he must have dated before then. So how come no chick has claimed she dated the now President of the USA? No documents, no friends, no previous girlfriends. Sounds like something Rod Sterling wrote.
Absolutely. We need to put them on defense!
Rush has been dropping hints from Day One tha the is chomping at the bit about this. Looks like Clear Channel has some sort of content control agreement with him.
It’s a business and nobody in broadcasting wants audits or administrative implementation of a “fairness” doctrine.
I think that may change shortly, however, thanks to the Donald’s agitation of 0.
I think “her” name was “Ahmed” or something similar. A red-hot Paki sex machine.
Don’t get angry about it, because when you examine this tactic from a dispassionate logical viewpoint, you see that they really CAN’T engage in a discussion on this issue, nor really, any other issue either.
They ALWAYS try to use some sort of tactic INSTEAD of addressing the argument (Intellectuals and Society by Thomas Sowell).
This avoidance usually takes the form of one of two logically fallacious arguments - the ad hominem or situational ad hominem, and the fallacy of irrelevant thesis (stating something true, but irrelevant to the veracity of the topic in question).
Now, they REALLY get uptight when you point out their irrational argument, because they just thought they “won” by calling you a name.
“Oh yeah? You’re a [profanity redacted] birther!” “Woohoo! victory lap!”
God knows we haven't seen any evidence of it yet, for ourselves.
As someone else said on another thread here the other day: anyone who tries that hard to keep something hidden, has something to hide.
There is a LEGITIMATE QUESTION concerning Os eligibility.
PERIOD.
Those conservatives and RINOs that belittle us are part of the PROBLEM.

The “b-word”?
Pal. You have been “p-word” whipped by the libs if you are afraid to identify yourself as a birther.
Look. Libs will ALWAYS call us truthers, tea-baggers, birthers, and any and all other names they came come up with. So what?
This “collective unconscious” that R of B writes about? It’s true. It’s out there. And although some may try and call themselves “proofers”; it is the term “birther” that resonates with the majority of Americans.
Birtherism. Embrace it - Claim it - Be proud of who you are. And see my tagline.
The thing about Trump is that right now I think he is the only individual in this country that can question BHO’s birth certificate and not only get away with it but get invited on show after show to talk about it. Nobody is going to go head on nasty with Trump because they don’t want the Rosie O’Donnell ghetto beatdown.
I don’t have a clue whether The Donald is serious about running for President but he is doing everyone a favor by giving the birth certificate issue some credibility and traction. Rock on Donald.
