The Justice Departments Office of Personnel Responsibility (OPR) has concluded an investigation finding that politics played no role in the handling of the New Black Panther Party case, which sparked a racially charged political fight.
After reviewing thousands of pages of internal e-mails and notes and conducting 44 interviews with department staff members, the OPR reported that department attorneys did not commit professional misconduct or exercise poor judgment and that the voter-intimidation case against the Panthers was dismissed on a good faith assessment of the law and not influenced by the race of the defendants.
The OPRs findings were released in a letter Tuesday to Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Tex.) that was signed by department attorney Robin Ashton.
The probe was an outgrowth of a political controversy over a 2008 voter-intimidation case against members of the New Black Panther Party. Some conservative lawyers, politicians and commentators have said that the Justice Departments Civil Rights Division improperly narrowed that case part of broader allegations among conservatives that the Obama Justice Department has failed to protect the civil rights of white voters. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and other Justice officials have strongly denied the charge.

Definitely a cover up! Needs to be a House investigation of this!
Pray for revival in America.
Hussein and Eric investigate Hussein and Eric. Now THAT’S funny!!!
I feel like I'm living inside a George Orwell novel.
Hypocrisy isn’t my forte, but let me see if I have this correct.
Thugs wielding nightsticks can form a gauntlet in front of a polling booth, slapping the sticks in their palms as intimidated white voters attempt to exercise their civic duty, but if a 5 year old child points his/her finger toward another child and the playground supervisor believes the gesture simulated a handgun, the 5 year old is harshly disciplined.
I equate our situation to alcoholism....you have to hit rock bottom before you realize you have to change your life.
I’d say we’re darn near rock bottom as far as the conduct of this administration is concerned.
God bless and save America
EODGUY
This screams or a special prosecutor, or independent prosecutor, or whatever the correct title is these days.
In their color driven racist world, it is impossible for blacks to commit civil rights violations.
By definition.
This is the most racist presidency ever. A real setback for the civil rights movement and a real blemish on America's reputation.
I’m sorry but white people haven’t suffered enough to warrant an investigation.
The problem here is only secondarily that of corrupt government agencies (not that that isn’t really serious, mind you) - politicized government agencies (that adequately describes Holder’s Justice Department, right?) are going to be largely motivated by self-preservation - in Holder’s case, essentially entirely motivated by self-preservation.
The REAL villains here are the press - they couldn’t give a lick about how corrupt this administration is, all they care about is whether they’re given cover to overlook that corruption, and that’s what the Justice Department report does.
Now if something similar happened in a Republican administration, they’d browbeat, harrass, insult and intimidate officials at every press conference and in every news report until they broke them down.
To me this is another reminder that we need to do everything we can do see that members of the MSM end up sweeping floors or cleaning toilets, which is hopefully all that will be left for them once we quit buying their damn papers and magazines, and listening to their awful broadcasts.
So they investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing?
SHOCKED! SHOCKED I AM!
Actually, I think NPR was straight repeating what Holder himself had said.
