Tax the Super Rich now or face a revolution
Market Watch ^ | March 29, 2011 | Paul B. Farrell

Yes, tax the Super Rich. Tax them now. Before the other 99% rise up, trigger a new American Revolution, a meltdown and the Great Depression 2.

We know the Super Rich don’t care. Not about you. Nor the American public. They can’t see. Can’t hear. Stay trapped in their Forbes-400 bubble. An echo chamber that isolates them. They see the public as faceless workers, customers, taxpayers. See GOP power on the ascent. Reaganomics is back. Unions on the run. Clueless masses are easily manipulated.

Even Obama is secretly working with the GOP, will never touch his Super Rich donors. Yes, the Super-Rich Delusion is that powerful, infecting all America.

Here’s how one savvy insider who knows described this Super-Rich Delusion: “The top 1% live privileged lives, aren’t worried about much. Families vacation at the best resorts. Their big concerns are finding the best Pilates teacher, best masseuse, best surgeons, best private schools. They aren’t concerned with the underlying deterioration of America or the world, except in the abstract, because they aren’t directly affected by it. That’s not to say they aren’t sympathetic, aware, or don’t talk about the issues you bring up. They are largely concerned with protecting and enhancing their socio-economic positions, ensuring their families live well. And nothing you write about will change things.”

300 it is.

Cellphone alarm signaled 8AM teleconference from which I'd already excused myself. So I was awake, now in the office. SO many little things to do...

Nice hat!

Time to get Frank to bed and then go to the gym, even though I’d much rather go to bed with Frank.

There's this pervasive myth among conservatives that class warfare only works in one direction.

As if the ultra-wealthy are somehow above using the government against the classes below them to enrich themselves. They aren't and they have been for a long time.

Y’wekkum, and g’morning!

Clear, blue, sunny, and temperate, with a light breeze; headed for a warm afternoon with a high of about 80.

Sion! I found some Vernor’s ginger ale!!!

DRIVE BY POST!!

The guru had some trouble with reformatting (his fault) so I probably won’t have Shrek back until tomorrow.

I just wanted to let you all know I’ve missed you and that I’ll see you this weekend.

Y’all be good, now, heah?

50s here, with a howling north wind. At least we saw the sun for a while. We’re going to church for fish-dinner, as soon as DP and Ash get back from her incredibly important walk.

Scouting requires a licence?

No, that was just a joke. But if you run your program too far outside the official parameters, all your Scouts will go to other Packs. Which would give you Thursday nights free for dance lessons ... but we won't go there.

Is THAT why the Helpdesk can't do anything for me?

One of my customers' IT groups has not succeeded, yet, in releasing any new software without first bastaardizing it in some way the requires the user base to submit trouble tickets to the Helpdesk. The situation is as close to an anti-Midas touch as I've ever seen. But, maybe it's just that they've driven all their little IT Scouts off to other Packs.

I know this much: if you operate your programs too far outside the official parameters, all your USERS will go to other Packs. ME? I'd like another pack. A BACKpack; perhaps somewhere in Patagonia, or New Zealand.

New Zealand, I understand, is perfectly charming. I hesitate to recommend South America (except for Colombia) because Anoreth will be going there, and she perpetrated such peaceful coexistencing in the Pacific last year that you couldn’t hardly get a flight out.

Good news! And we have Vernor's in the fridge too.

Came home with rather a bit of work to do, and things to figger out. Oh well.

A little early for Vernor's this morning, but I am up regardless. Maybe we have some cocoa in the house...

Now I have to go register with a website so I can apply to be a speaker at a conference this fall. The nice part is that one of the organizers asked me to apply; the bad part is that they must be really desperate. *\;^)
