Tax the Super Rich now or face a revolution
Market Watch ^ | March 29, 2011 | Paul B. Farrell

Yes, tax the Super Rich. Tax them now. Before the other 99% rise up, trigger a new American Revolution, a meltdown and the Great Depression 2.

We know the Super Rich don’t care. Not about you. Nor the American public. They can’t see. Can’t hear. Stay trapped in their Forbes-400 bubble. An echo chamber that isolates them. They see the public as faceless workers, customers, taxpayers. See GOP power on the ascent. Reaganomics is back. Unions on the run. Clueless masses are easily manipulated.

Even Obama is secretly working with the GOP, will never touch his Super Rich donors. Yes, the Super-Rich Delusion is that powerful, infecting all America.

Here’s how one savvy insider who knows described this Super-Rich Delusion: “The top 1% live privileged lives, aren’t worried about much. Families vacation at the best resorts. Their big concerns are finding the best Pilates teacher, best masseuse, best surgeons, best private schools. They aren’t concerned with the underlying deterioration of America or the world, except in the abstract, because they aren’t directly affected by it. That’s not to say they aren’t sympathetic, aware, or don’t talk about the issues you bring up. They are largely concerned with protecting and enhancing their socio-economic positions, ensuring their families live well. And nothing you write about will change things.”

Good pick. I like the smell, and the charged atmosphere. Fresh ozone, and the tingle of ionizing energy crackling through the air are always invigorating.

Warren is fine with his income tax being raised - he already has significant wealth. Put a tax on his wealth and hear him scream as well. His real agenda is to keep others from becoming as wealthy as he is.

Take your time.
It will get easier to bear.

Life runs in cycles. That's why there ia always an UP!
I have yet to accept that we need the Down in order to appreciate Up, but I have no evidence either way.

Good night everyone.

Your assumptions are wrong. In this country we pay INCOME taxes - not wealth taxes. So - you are advocating raising taxes on high income earners, not on those with high net worths

I think this is all about two things - 1) ignorance, those who don’t understand their objectives aren’t met by taxing high incomes and 2) those with wealth wanting to prevent others from gaining it (including politicians, most of whom are wealthy)

Howzit, y’all. I survived Cub Scouts again, eight of them this time. We did the “Music Belt Loop.” They liked Catholic Heavy Metal and Cajun best, of the selections offered. The adults seemed to like Allison Moorer pretty well.

It would have been neat to offer a Darksheare fiction vignette with musical background. Maybe another time, with older Scouts. I’d hate to have my license pulled for giving the 7-year-olds nightmares.

Can you recommend a Fernando Ortega CD? Does he have any recordings in Spanish? I could use some of this music in my Sunday School classes; Tom and I will be teaching 5th or 6th grade next year, and we can do a lot more meditation than I can this year, with 16 first-graders.

Well, we were supposed to be on our way but airport delays resulted in our crew not being here yet, so we’re at least a half hour away from departing. Going to be a late night...

I looked over his website:
http://www.fernandoortega.com/

Found this CD “Camino Largo” that’s exclusively Spanish recordings:
https://store2.bandfarm.com/fernandoortega/product/?catID=17&prodID=266

“Hymns of Worship” has, as you might expect, his renditions of some of the old hymns:
https://store2.bandfarm.com/fernandoortega/product/?catID=17&prodID=271

My favorite of his CD’s, though, is “Storm”:
https://store2.bandfarm.com/fernandoortega/product/?catID=17&prodID=275

Try the album page at pandora.com; if you can access it, it has brief samples of each track on the CD:

“I wonder if the article would support a fair tax and get rid of the income tax? That’s what I think is the best solution”

There is no such thing as a ‘Fair Tax’ on earned income. End the Fed, end the dole for banks and coorporations, end the dole, period for all who are on the dole.
