The funniest part of this is that even now, after more than two years of heavy breathing from liberal media about how extremely extremist those extreme tea partiers are, the Democratic brain trust still needs a heads up on how properly to smear budget-cutting conservatives. I always figured they just committed a bunch of pejoratives to memory during their orientation as members of Congress for use forevermore: Extremist, radical, fringe, dangerous, heartless, and of course old reliable, out of touch.
At least we know now, though, why Schumers considered a likely eventual successor to Reid as majority leader. Evidently, hes the smart one.
Um, Senators, ever heard of the mute button?
Moments before a conference call with reporters was scheduled to get underway on Tuesday morning, apparently unaware that many of the reporters were already on the line, Charles Schumer of New York, the No. 3 Democrat in the Senate, began to instruct fellow senators on how to talk to reporters about the contentious budget process.
After thanking his colleagues Barbara Boxer of California, Ben Cardin of Maryland, Tom Carper of Delaware and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut for doing the budget bidding for the Senate Democrats, who are facing off against the House Republicans over how spending for the rest of the fiscal year, Mr. Schumer told them to portray John Boehner of Ohio, the Speaker of the House, as painted into a box by the Tea Party, and to decry the spending cuts that he wants as extreme. I always use the word extreme, Mr. Schumer said, That is what the caucus instructed me to use this week.

Full Title: Chuck Schumer accidentally admits: Yes, Ive been robotically programmed to call Republicans extremists
These times call for something “extreme.”
According to Chucky, anyone who doesn’t agree with him is an “extremist”. Chucky is yet another posterchild for why liberalism is both a social and mental disease.
Looks like chuck is the definition of an extremist.
Interesting gaff by Chuck Schumer but no real surprise here. Both liberals and conservatives have been branding each other as ‘extreme’ for years. For the public, I doubt the word has much real meaning anymore. Just political rhetoric. Sort of like the left claiming Republicans that try to cut public service workers gold-plated benefit packages ‘hate’ workers or if you criticize a homosexual, you’re a ‘homophobe’, etc, ad nauseum.
We all know this already.
One of Rush’s greatest schticks is when he puts the sound bytes together of libs all repeating the same words over and over again, back to back. It’ll start with CBS, CNN, and go on for about ten or so repetitions.
All the MSM will repeat the same word, over and over, on the same morning. It’s proof to me that they collude their broadcasts to sent the same message - lib good, conservative bad.
bttt
Based on what the ‘rats believe(and shamelessly admit to) they ARE the extremists.
They get their orders every day from DNC. They are Parrots not reporters.
There’s a FReeper that goes by what you posted.
It's surprising that conservatives - even when in power or having advantageous circumstances and/or a bully pulpit - haven't tried using it against liberals / "progressives" and other socialists. The Stupid Party has been consistently and completely missing such PR opportunities.
The Surprising New Class Politics - FR, by CutePuppy, 2011 March 28
Conservatives should contrast the "productive working class" / "working middle class" with "fat-cat government unions" so the psychology changes and the people would stop seeing themselves as [likely] recipients of the government largess and start seeing themselves as the victims of and payers for the government largess, and paying more than "their fair share" for the Big Government. That will permanently change the political narrative and shift the attitude toward the [big] government, and will render the class-warfare rhetoric of the Left damaged, weak and ineffective. They should be called, repeatedly (the way left does it, so that people get used to and remember,
even especially if it makes them cringe in the beginning) the "unproductive fat-cat left-wing radical extremist government employees unions" who feast on the hard work, sweat and taxes of productive "working class" / "working middle class."
