Bystanders severely beat a driver who accidentally hit a man running from a mobile home park near Henderson where large fights broke out Saturday night, state troopers said Sunday.
Troopers said the driver, who didn't want his name released out of concerns for his safety, was driving down Raleigh Road in Kittrell to get his son a late-night snack from Burger King around 9:15 p.m. Several large fights were taking place in a nearby mobile home park, troopers said.
Reuben Wright, 19, of Henderson, ran out into the road in front of the car, and the driver had no time to see him or stop, troopers said. Wright's head crashed through the front windshield.
Troopers said bystanders from both sides of the road rushed out into the street, dragged the driver from his car and assaulted him, nearly beating him to death.
He has been released from Mariah Parham Medical Center, but his lung is still in danger of collapsing.
"The driver had cuts and bruises all over his head, all over his back," said Trooper B.E. Pulliam of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Wright was flown to Duke University Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Sunday evening. He suffered serious head trauma and fractures in both his legs, according to Wright's friends.
Cindy Harris, of Kittrell, watched the attack and stopped to help the victim. She said she flashed her lights and held her horn down for five minutes to get the crowd to scatter.
"I'm very angry," she said. "It was just a brutal, brutal beating."
She described how they pulled him from the car, and said four or five people kicked him repeatedly while one man sat on him and pushed his head into the cement.

and now, my first (no doubt also ‘racist’) thoughts RE: the race of the assault victim, also appear to have been concerned.
It’s starting to get too easy to predict these things. For the most part, it goes like this:
If the assault(s) involve(s) black attacker(s) and white victim(s) the members of the ‘news’ media go out of their way to NOT mention anyone’s race, and somewhere in the story is a the line: “no charges have been brought at this time”.
If the brutal assault(s) involve(s) white attacker(s) and black victim(s) then the ‘story’ will most likely close with something along the lines of the following: “Law enforcement officials are considering whether to also file ‘hate crime’ charges against the perpetrators of this senseless and vicious assault.”
They are becoming more like animals BECAUSE of political correctness. Its their carte blanc to do anything they feel like little fear of consequence.
This kind of thing will not stop until people become bold enough to pull their heads out of the rear ends.

This was a trailer park in north caroline, safe bet it was either Latino are black are a combination of the two.

I watched it through also. It looks like the `Saturday night’s all right for fightin’ crowd were African-Americans, or in French: `les chuckers-of-spears’.
Incidents like this are why I have a Ruger pistol in my cars armrest: it will help me find my way to my trunk where my 7.62 carbine sleeps. That’s real diversity.
Stuff like this doesn’t happen in my neighborhood. I wonder what’s different?
Knew it was yet another black-on-white attack the moment I saw the headline. Remarkable to see the caution and hesitation in the comments. You really didn’t know? They ought to bulldoze that entire slum tonight.
Racial incidents seem to be increasing. So much for electing the first “black” president.

I wonder just what will happen if God willing the First Thug is defeated in 2012? (And unlike many on FR, I am by no means convinced his defeat is a foregone conclusion, or that the Republicans could run a ham sandwich and it would beat BHO, or that BHO=JEC II, ergo the Republican candidate automatically = RWR II, etc etc etc.)
LOTS of folks have noticed that-it’s not just on FR. Even on “straight” or MSM sites (NOT conservative sites or blogs), I see posts all the time now that read, “Well, they didn’t list the perp’s race in the description, so that means it’s a black man”. Really, I wish the MSM would realize we’re on to that little trick, and stop already.
