LAWRENCE Fighting poverty in the state's poorest community is supposed to be a full-time job.
But the head of the city's leading anti-poverty agency spends as little as 15 hours a week in the office. The remainder of his time is spent at the Elks Lodge on Andover Street, playing card games and video poker, enjoying long lunches, and indulging his taste for Romeo Y Julieta cigars, an investigation by The Eagle-Tribune has found.
“Poverty pays: Agency chief makes six figures for little work”
He is a ‘poverty fighter,’ no? He fought and he is no longer poor :). Mission accomplished.
I bet he completes all the work he needs to do in those 15 hours.
Agencies like this have lots of layers of supervisors and managers to oversee the employees doing the work.
Lot of chiefs and a relative few indians.
demoKaRATZ. Equal opportunity pigs at the trough.
The demoKaRATZ party is the new STALINISTs. Jack boots, Siberian camps, et al.
Just ask a SEIU union thug, life is good! Krack a few heads and steal their money!
Trumpka says its just fine!!
Hey, union thugs, we out number you. This will NOT be a replay of Reds against the Czarist Whites.
You time is neigh. Make the most of it. Because it will be your last HUrah.
Your tax dollars at work. And play.
I feel like a gerbil at this moment. Maybe a hampster.
Somebody grab my little running wheel. I have never seen the guy in the penthouse over in the next room. The one who eats fish tongues and drinks ice water flown in from Antarctica.
Little things like this, or a self-immolating Tusian vegetable vendor, start civil wars.
And we wonder why we lost the war on poverty. Wonder how many millions of these trough hogs there are?
Pray for America
there are no jobs unless you want to work 40 hours a week
My God, why would anyone 84 years old even want to have a job? He’s got to have enough money by now.
Probably because he likes collecting $184.62 an hour pay...
But when budgets get tight, they’ll threaten police, fire and teachers first...
Government simply cannot handle money. They always spend it wrong. I’d slash 50% of every single government budget in the entire country. Then I’d step back and consider further cuts.
Excellent question. I have decided, over the past couple of months, that I'm no longer doing it. I have no debt and am ready to just pull the plug. The only reluctance I had was my 14 full time employees. I'm working more than ever for nominal returns - it just isn't worth it anymore.
How could there be any poverty left to administer? We’ve spent trillions upon trillions to eliminate it ... LBJ and the Kennedys promised!
The incredible Goverment scam engine keeps rolling along, and states are broke because of them, outrageous pensions and illegal aliens who cost 500% more than they ever produce.
Time to re-take our nation, this maggot needs to be fired.
