On top of everything else, some potentially troublesome environmental news out of the Gulf of Mexico again.
The Times Picayune is reporting that the Coast Guard is investigating reports of a brand new deepwater oil spill.
Multiple callers have reported that they have seen a huge sheen of oil not far from a deepwater rig....

If that’s from a rig as claimed then why does there appear to be a beach in the upper left corner? That looks like it could be a tarmat near the beach.
Plus the picture doesn’t give very good perspective at all.
How many spills in the gulf before it is no longer a coincidence? There was one platform explosion, then a week later a tanker ran into an oil pipeline. One week after the pipeline collision, one more platform had an explosion. Now there is a mysterious oil leak. I hope that some people in the executive branch go to jail after we jet a real President.
Did DP oil open up a dimensional portal and allow demons loose? Reality resembles South Park more and more.
News Update: That isn’t an oil spill. It is merely the flotsom & jetsam from AF1 flying over the Gulf on the way to S America with nobama, mooch-elle and his slime-dripping minions aboard. Everyone stay calm.

Totally agree. Obama gives us plenty to blame him for, but I think we should wait before we blame him for this.
The precedent has been set with the Bush presidency. Every disaster that occurred was Bush's fault and that he was not ready before it happened. Therefore, its perfectly logical to hold Obama to the same standard.

That is of course what we heard during the 8 years of the Bush era.
So we are just trying to be consistent.
We really need to get busy and pump all that stuff out from down there before it makes a mess.

Natural Oil Seeps in the Gulf of Mexico

Although accidents and hurricane damage to infrastructure are often to blame for oil spills and the resulting pollution in coastal Gulf of Mexico waters, natural seepage from the ocean floor introduces a significant amount of oil to ocean environments as well. Oil spills are notoriously difficult to identify in natural-color (photo-like) satellite images, especially in the open ocean. Because the ocean surface is already so dark blue in these images, the additional darkening or slight color change that results from a spill is usually imperceptible.
