What was that Hamas-linked CAIR and other Islamic supremacist groups were saying about how it was utterly fanciful that Sharia would ever be used to judge cases in American courts?

TWO REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS TARGET SHARIA LAW IN FLORIDA
03-19-2011 5:23 pm - Marc Caputo - The Miami Herald
Two Republican State legislators want to make sure Florida courts arent tainted by what one of them calls foreign shenanigans: Muslim Sharia law or legal codes from other nations.
Neither Sen. Alan Hays nor Rep. Larry Metz, though, could name a Florida case where international law or Islamic law has caused a problem in a state court. They said they werent targeting Sharia, a body of law primarily based on the Koran and the Hadith, the sayings of Islams founder, Mohammed.
But the legislation, which resembles efforts in a dozen other states where Islamic law is under scrutiny, was copied almost word-for-word from the model legislation posted on the website of a group called the American Public Policy Alliance.
American Laws for American Courts was crafted to protect American citizens constitutional rights against the infiltration and incursion of foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines, especially Islamic Sharia Law, the groups website says.
Hays, R-Umatilla, said he just wants to protect the rights of Floridians.
I filed a bill that says in the courts of Florida the laws of no other country can be used to influence the decisions of Florida, Hays said. If its Sharia law or any other law I dont care what law it is if its not a Florida law and if its some foreign law, it doesnt belong in our courts.
Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the South Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he called Hays office a week ago to discuss the “garbage” bill but never got a call back. If the bill passes, he said, “we are prepared to fight it.”
“Its absurd. Ive never even heard of a court using Sharia law in making a ruling in a case,” Hamze said. “If it is intended to combat peoples fear of Islamic law, it does a poor job ... because it does not mention Islam or Sharia but it does mention foreign law, which affects all religions, not just Islam, because you have Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Hindu laws.”
One reason Sharia isnt mentioned in the bill is due to the U.S. Constitutions ban on religious discrimination or favoritism. Citing the First Amendment, a federal judge recently blocked a voter-approved Oklahoma law targeting Sharia.
“Thats an unconstitutional establishment of religion.”
This story doesn’t involve religion, it involves Islam and Sharia. Your comment makes no sense.
Dontcha think?

Islamic/sharia law is religion.
What's that about "making sense"?
I promise you that if you looked at arbitration agreements in the diamond trade in NY, MANY of them will have provisions based solely on arcane Jewish law.
Things that some people worry about, especially given real problems in the world today, are just pathetic.
There is a copy of the doc at the link but I don’t know what the dispute is. I am trying to find out but don’t know yet and will be limited on time til later on.
Just another Black Robed Mullah on the bench.

I hope that the good voters of Hillsborough let him know what they think of his actions in August of 2014 when his next retention vote will occur.
Precisely. The judge should be removed from the bench and the order rescinded.
What do you want to bet the parties stipulated to this order? That fact would ordinarily be stated in findings of fact and conclusions of law presented to the court in support of this order. Many judges will sign anything put in front of them if the parties are in agreement and it might clear up his schedule for some golf.
