Diet Coke fizzes past Pepsi (America-hating, Obama-loving PepsiCo CEO flop)
CNN Money ^ | 3/17/11 | Charles Riley

Score one for the Coca-Cola Company.

Diet Coke unseated Pepsi as the second most popular carbonated soft drink in 2010, according to data from Beverage Digest.

-snip-

The switch marks a sea change in the industry. According to John Sicher, the editor and publisher of Beverage Digest, Pepsi has held the second position "for decades."

Sicher attributed the decline in Pepsi's market share to its Pepsi Refresh Project marketing campaign, which is focused on community service.

>>The truth is I just like the taste of Diet Coke better.

Us, too. The wife even more than I.

“Anything to drink?”

“Diet Coke, please.”

“Is Diet Pepsi OK?”

“Iced tea.”

“Put a Moon Pie with that R.C. and you’ve got quite a treat.”

I’ve been infesting the south for 3 years now and still can’t get into a Moon Pie. There’s something about it that makes my stomach go into revolt. Maybe if I barbecue the thing...

Now Kielbasa with horseradish and RC is great.

I stopped spending money on Pepsi products when they started supporting gun control.

Good. Pepsi is a huge supporter of the homosexual agenda, and after I learned about that a few years ago, I stopped purchasing Pepsi products altogether. I prefer Dr Pepper (Coke product) anywise. But, as much pop as I drink, the loss of my business alone probably cost PepsiCo at least a dollar of stock value!

I'm glad that when I do drink pop (which isn't often), it is a Coke product. I have either a Diet Coke or a Coke Zero.

So Pepsi supports hussein eh? Well, I choose not to support Pepsi with my $$$ then. I won't support their support of that un-American, anti-American socialist/fascist.

I'm with you there - Coke Zero is not bad at all. I was going to say "...for a diet drink." But you know, it can hold its own against "regular" pop too.

Full disclosure... Others should take my evaluation with a grain of salt - I don't drink pop very often, and I honestly can't remember the last time I had anything more than a sip of my wife's regular Coke.

It was while doing a Pepsi commercial that Michael Jackson caught his hair on fire.

That was about the same time that Richard Pryor caught on fire while free-basing coke.

The story at the time was that they were starting a new charity called the Ignited Negro College Fund.

“I find that Coke Zero is FAR superior to any other soft drink out there. Yes, even DIET COKE...;-)”

Here Here...I totally agree with your statement! Coke Zero is like mother’s milk to me.

I prefer Dr Pepper (Coke product)

Dr Pepper is not owned by Coca-Cola. They are owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc., the parent company of Dr Pepper and Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. They are a spinoff of Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (CSAB) from Cadbury Schweppes plc.

I think Coke’s version is Mr. Pibb. I always thought Dr. Pepper was made by Pepsi because it was available only at fast food places that had Pepsi and not Coke.
