Vikings running back Adrian Peterson compared NFL owners' treatment of players to "modern-day slavery," according to an online interview published Tuesday by Yahoo! Sports.
Yahoo's Doug Farrar, who conducted the interview Friday with Peterson, removed that comment from the story later Tuesday, explaining on Twitter that he wants to give Peterson the chance to provide context.
Peterson, who is known to be thoughtful when speaking with the local media in Minnesota, is in Africa with other NFL players on a goodwill trip and unavailable for immediate comment.

was illegal aliens hired by Americans for less than minimum wage? Time for the NFL to eliminate collective bargaining privileges, free agency and endorsement deals for players. I hope they deal themselves right into another Scab-League season. It's not really the players we enjoy watching, it's the Uniforms!
FUMBLE!!!!!

A middle class family of four can hardly afford to attend a game live.
Parking $15-$20, tickets $50+ per, $20 per for concession = $300 bucks for a two hour game. No souvenirs.
Uh....no! To go watch a bunch of egomaniac premadonas run around on field chasing a guy with a ball some of which are nothing more than ghetto thugs plucked out of their hood to generate $$$$
Just callin it like it is.
if there’s a lockout, the owners could plant cotton on the fields
Hey, it deez is torture, chain me to da wall.
*YAWN*
I remember hearing all about “greedy owners” in the first couple of baseball strikes.
NO SYMPATHY HERE!
Well golly. Just set them free then.
There is chaos in the world and I’m supposed to drum up sympathy for PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES? stfu already
So sick of professional sports in this country.
I knew Peterson was a jerk, but this...yeesh.
The players have no power and everybody knows it. The only way the players could stick it to the owners is to hurt them where it matters. What if the players did the passive aggressive thing and really made the league into the wrestling entertainment it has become. All the league could try to become the NFC west. Every team is either 9-7 or 7-9. All it would take is for one or two safeties, cornerbacks and kickers to make games hilarious. Think you have a safe lead, oooops, blown coverage. Missing that chip shot field goal , sad. The really smart way to screw the league would be to have every game settled OVER the spread one week and under the spread the next week. Back and forth with no way of seeing which team is favored. All they have to do is “have a concussion” and sit out a game. They get paid and screw the league. Priceless.
Well if that’s the case, I suggest the NFL hire more white boys to play. No self-respecting black would ever work for a racist organization like the NFL.......dont ya think???
Seriously? With a minimum salary in the $300,000.00 range and some guys getting $15,000,000.00 plus?
What is the definition of “modern-day slavery” ?
How many games do they play? I know they practice and ‘condition’ between their parties and hookers, but come on. I won’t miss constant football games on tv for a few months. Let them strike and start over.
THe slaves are the taxpayers that have to cough up tax dollars to build them stadiums and then pay to get tickets to see the games so that they can make their millions. This doesn’t include the money that we have to pay to buy products that are advertising during NFL games. To Hades with them I don’t care if they ever play again.
By the way, can anyone explain to me why the NFL isn’t an illegal trust? Don’t get me wrong, antitrust laws are stupid and I wish they would die. But how is it that the federal government comes down like a hammer on the evil of too many cereal brand names (no, seriously) but couldn’t care less about what’s obviously a giant interstate monopoly? Aside from its popularity, I mean. Or did I answer my own question?
If Peterson doesn’t like being a slave all he has to do is quit. What would he call the parking attendants?
Pray for America
