Wow. Here is another reason public unions should not be allowed to collectively bargain with politicians running a local or state government. Union leadership including those from law enforcement and firefighters have sent letters out to local businesses demanding they publicly oppose the efforts of Wisconsins legislature and governor or face the consequences.
Not only are they suggesting they publicly oppose the fiscal-sanity measures in Wisconsin, they are flat out telling them they will publicly boycott businesses who do not proactively do so. From James Tarantos opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal yesterday.

The democrats are fighting for that 'teat' we all supply to them with everything at hand.
This just slipped from democracy into hell. From threatening the gov, literally following him in his car to now threatening businesses....the unions are totally out of control.
The DNC sees its motherload of cash from the American taxpayer via the union dues slipping away and is FRANTIC.
Doom on the unions......
These heathens need to be reeled in post haste.
It’s not enough that you be a tax slave, now you have to bow and worship your masters.
imagine police and firemen “boycotting” a business that does not support their union’s ideology
burn baby burn?
In a husky voice: “God forbid you should have a fire, or suffer an armed robbery!”
THIS is why unions must be busted, everywhere!
is that the same as submitting application for new a job?
.. should be
Time to pull a Reagan on these bas-—ds...
Mafia or Union, you decide.
Every policeman and firefighter involved with a union in any fashion other than being coerced to be in said union, MUST IMMEDIATELY BE FIRED AND PROSECUTED UNDER THE RICO ACT.
The Mafia will be really pissed.
Anybody have any idea how the targeted businesses have responded to this? I’d be curious to know whether they’re going to hold their ground or roll over.
Absolutely. The money spigot to the crooked Crats must be turned of
Whoever sent those letters needs to be removed immediately for cause.
Failure to do so will ensure an increase in similar behavior.
Now that the threat has been made, ANY loss to fire or theft etc. is actionable in court against the city as long as those leaders actions go unchallenged by the city.
“Why looks like we got a little fire down at Bob’s Hardware. Too bad Bob is on the no respond list. Sorry ‘bout that Bob, should’ve supported the union.”
Just goes to show you that all government employee unions need to be banned. There is absolutely no reason for them. They are NOT in an adversarial relationship with their employer.
This type of thing might provide the fuel to actually disband public unions.
Imagine the first fire not responded to, or responded to poorly. It wouldn’t be difficult to tie this type of union activity to public endandgerment. That’s something the governor can act upon.
Unfortunately, something has to happen as a result of neglect before the unions can be put on the spot.
