Haven't seen this video posted here, best look I've yet seen of the waters coming in. Seems mild at first but the water just keeps coming until it becomes disastrous.

I tell u what, if he was on foot he wouldn’t have made it. A car had a fighting chance but with the speed of that water, it was a good 2-3 miles inland from the start of that vid. Hope he knew the streets...

Thank you.

Amazing, again and again.

I truly wish there was some way that I could head over there to help out. I know, there are money donations and other such things, but I really want to go there personally and help out.

My wife and I are ready to learn another language, I think it will be Japanese. Then we will at least be able to communicate with those that live and visit our country.

Those poor folks... so much destruction and heartbreak. They are a resilient people... they will rebuild.

I strongly suspect there was a bathtub factory down the street there.

Its almost as though everything man made, beginning from the smallest item and ending with the largest, decided on their own to move up the street.

You’re absolutely correct. They must be looking for a Conservative scapegoat, over at the KOS, DUmmieLand, HuffPo, etc. for this tragedy.

Someone was saying that water at 7 miles per hour has the equivelent pounds-per-square foot pressure to an F-5 tornado due to the weight of water versus air.

It was one thing to watch the cars floating away but it was another thing to watch stores and houses floating away. It was like everything was lining up to be washed out of the sink in some play world.

One day in a canoe with even a Grade 1 riffle will convince you of its power.

I saw this yesterday and can’t get it out of my mind.

This really shows exactly how a tsunami works its horror and damage. Thanks G-d these people were on a HILL and not just on a roof as I first thought.

I cannot imagine what those people went through and are still going through. There are almost no words for it.

If I had to listen to that *siren* for very long, I would have to put myself out of misery.

When you go back to rewatch the video, you remember the driver making a lefthand turn down the street, right at the very beginning. I wonder if he stayed ahead of the floodwater? I hope he didn’t stop at any red lights.

That guy taking video was right down by it. What an idiot. he is lucky he didn’t get taken out.
He finally goes up the hill. And as seen from aerial shots by Helicopter- embankments and hills got overrun by water and debris.

I would have been terrified. But as one report said, the joke in the US is that the Japanese always have their cameras when they visit the US..but the same is true when they are in Japan.

There will be a lot of scary footage from those that survived.

Another miracle was found. a 4 month old in the rubble.

Watching this makes me grateful for what I have and the fortune to NOT to have experienced a massive traumatic disaster like this. I have been in a house destroyed by a typhoon and a hurricane but nothing like this.
