Democratic Sen. John Kerry (Mass.) will introduce bipartisan legislation later this week to create a federal infrastructure bank to fund major projects around the nation, an aide told The Hill.
Kerry has at least one Republican senator backing the initiative the American Infrastructure Financing Authority that will initially cost about $10 billion and provide loans and loan guarantees for large, much-needed infrastructure projects.

It is what I “thought” I said. At least what I was trying to convey.
GOPer could be Dick Lugar...
In no way whatsoever, I agree. But please look again at the post to understand what I said. I replied to:
banks that... screw the American people.
That's ages-old, boring, routine socialist propaganda. Unfortunately, many "conservatives" internalized it as well.
Wonderful! I am glad to see we are in agreement. Thank you for the clarification.
They already ruined this years IRS tax season with the delays and new forms causing chaos and Schedule B to not be accurate. Banks are now charging ridiculous fees. What more could they possibly do to eff things up?
Kerry has at least one Republican senator backing the initiative.
LOL A Republican senator who insists on remaining anonymous.
I don’t blame him/her.
How about Snowe?
She’s on the Finance Committee.
Let me guess McCain or Graham?

No thanks, Kerry. Get rid of the dangerous amendments here if you want to look like you are doing something.
Today is 2234 days since 01/30/2005, when Hanoi John Effin Kerry promised, on national TV, to sign form SF-180 and release his military records.
Unless these “infrastructure” projects produce a lot of revenue taxpayers will pay off the bonds.
Hopefully it is DOA in the House.
Just the signs alone cost $20,000,000!
See post #15.
Please don't say those words. Willie Green will chime in.....
If we got rid of the unconstitutional Department of Education, that might free up a few bucks for infrastructure. Maybe.
I think John Kerry needs to get personally involved in a big infrastructure project somewhere. He’d make a very nice foundational element to a new government building, or something. Certainly, among all the billions being spent, there has to be something that he can be made a part of.
How is this bill bipartisan?
Probably a way to fund jobs for unions who will then line the coffers of democrats.
We have spent enough on infrastructure. The money is gone and we have a few filled potholes to show for it.
Seems like Mr. Mica needs to be booted real soon.
Yeah — your assessment is probably more accurate than mine.
