DAYTON -- The Dayton Police Department is lowering its testing standards for recruits.
It's a move required by the U.S. Department of Justice after it says not enough African-Americans passed the exam.
Dayton is in desperate need of officers to replace dozens of retirees. The hiring process was postponed for months because the D.O.J. rejected the original scores provided by the Dayton Civil Service Board, which administers the test.
Under the previous requirements, candidates had to get a 66% on part one of the exam and a 72% on part two.
The D.O.J. approved new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That's the equivalent of an F and a D....
The D.O.J. has forced other police departments across the country to lower testing standards, citing once again that not enough black candidates were passing.
The Dayton Firefighter recruit exam is coming up this summer. The chief said its likely the passing score for that test will be lowered as well.Civil Service Board Announces Police Recruit Scores

Here is a fact - One of these affirmative action appointments to the P.D. will, in reality, eventually become the Chief of the Department!! That is the unmitigated truth - it happens all the time in government; Federal, State and Local.
The minority candidate will by-pass all of the whites and with less years of service on the job as well.
The very ones who never read the book.
I f it is like some I saw when I was still in school they will sign their name to it put it down and pass with flying colors!
It's disgusting and I can guarantee I have seen it many many times. It follows a predictable pattern. Candidate so and so is an outstanding worker, and a great asset to the team, etc, etc, etc. Meanwhile, people who are running circles around candidate so and so are ignored and not rated quite as high. Or, if they ARE rated as high, it won't matter, because candidate so and so will be selected for hiring and promotion. This type of administrative cowardice and preferences lead to the Ft. Hood shootings, and God only knows how many other disasters and foul ups have befallen various agencies because of affirmative action.
With more and more stupid people being hired in law enforcement, there is more likelihood that when some people say they have rights under the Constitution the stupid affirmative action Holder people’s cops will respond “Not no more you don’t.”
Doesn’t the public have an expectation to having the smartest cops and fire fighters possible? Who gives a F**K what color they are? If they were mostly black I’d be fine with it if they were the best ones.
Geez this sh1t just has to end. Really. Jobs are not entitlements and handouts because you’re a protected class. This is just such happy horsesh1t. No wonder much of the rest of the world laughs at us. We’ve got morons running the show here making a mockery of justice and common sense.
Most don’t because most blame their personal situations on external things. They believe they deserve such treatment because it’s not their own fault and that there’s nothing they could do to make things better for themselves.
That is why they are not insulted. But they should be.

Uh, you do realize that the majority of LEOs in the United States are non-union, and that collective bargaining for police officers is ILLEGAL in many states.
At some point down the road I wouldn’t be surprised if the downward revising of the scoring requirements for blacks will be considered PREDATORY.
They’ll be a lot of beer summits because of Dayton Police acting STUPIDLY!
In the 80’s I applied for recruit with the Fayetteville, NC PD. Took and aced all the tests. After a few weeks the black female training sergeant called me to say that they couldn’t start a new class until they were able to get enough blacks to pass the tests.
LOL! One guy was in line with me to get fingerprinted and asked me if he needed to get it done again. I said, “What do you mean ‘again’? I’ve only been in this one line for it.” He said he’d just been fingerprinted the night before - when he was thrown in the slammer for public drunkenness. He thought since he was there already he’d just go on and apply.
Remember what Jesse Jackson said, “Mend it, don’t end it”
There was a method to his madness!!
