The killer should’ve been executed to begin with. That being said, the threat this man is making brings no honor to the memory of his fallen son.
Why isn’t that POS murderer in for life? Oh, I forgot. Murdering a child is not important enough to the lawmakers.
I'm not sure why the fact that a pervert who enjoys murdering little boys behaves well when he's locked up without access to young children is a reason to let him out so that he will again have access to our kids. I'm also not sure why it makes sense to announce your plans if you're the father and want to solve the problem permanently after the courts have failed. The dad should wait quietly for his opportunity and then shoot, shovel, and shut up. Problem solved, and I'll bet any decent cop would put more energy into traffic violations and donuts than into solving that disappearance.
He’s probably trying to raise the visibility of this guy getting set free, hoping they’ll reconsider and keep him behind bars.
Afterwards I’d go about my business for a few years, then make my move, if that was my actual intent.
If the dad does kill him, don’t expect juries, the courts, or any government entity to go easy on the guy. The government won’t do it’s duty, but if you try to do it for them, there’ll hell to pay.
The jury might want to help the guy, but their instructions will be so tight that they won’t be able to without endangering themselves.

Oh, and by the way, if the murderer winds up dead, the father was with me the whole time watching tv— he couldn't have done it.
I’m thinking this should become an affirmative defense for murder. This isn’t vigilanti justice. This guy was convicted.
If I was on the jury or could even get a two letter message to the jury, it would be "OJ", and that would be enough.
The gubmint failed this child and the community.The father will rectify that.
It may be days, it may be weeks, and it may even be months, after he gets out, but this son of a bitch will kill and eat again.
...and if I’m on the jury he’s home in time for supper.

Sorry, I have to disagree. This father lives with the fact that his son was killed and desecrated in such a heinous way. I can understand him wanting to get some sort of justice for him, especially considering the fact that the animal will be released. This would not even be an issue if that were not the case. This man has all of my sympathy and I can’t say I would not feel the same way.
If this beast were stupid enough to return to the hometown, I don’t think there would be one witness if he should happen to be gunned down in the middle of the street in the middle of town in the middle of the day..........
Making the threat doesn’t really bring the honor.

If the father kills him, I am moving to that town and signing up for jury duty.
yeah, you do not go on tv and announce your intentions....you do not kill someone in the streets...one day, the perp just disappears, ya know...
The monster actually walked free for 8 years until he was caught after trying to abduct another young man.
The father's wife died in 2000 which has to make his burden even worse. I don't really think he cares what happens to himself after he administers his rightful vengeance........
