In his Friday press conference to discuss gas prices, President Obama was rather defensive, straining to counter the notion that his administration has been unfriendly to oil drilling, something most people would like to see a lot more of these days.
Where do people get that notion? Perhaps his Interior Department appealing a judges ruling that it act on several pending deepwater permits had something to with it.
Obama claimed repeatedly that he is not against drilling, then made the following comments:

The refineries are operating at <90% capacity...why do you think they're shutting them down? Do you want to give them government subsidies so they stay open and have a reason to overcompete, just so you can have gas prices lowered, or what?
If you have some concrete examples of what should be changed in the regulations, I'd love to hear them! But regulations (and the governing laws) are put in place for a supposed reason, and unless we demonstrate that reason is satisfied or obsolete, it's very difficult to justify the change.
Just a reflection of his constituents.

No. He is a liar.

Obama versus energy independence
Posted by C.A. Morrison
The Chamber of Commerce issued a report Thursday that said 351 energy projects were held up due to regulations, environmental protests, or lawsuits. 45% were renewable energy projects which the Obama administration has promoted.
Delays in these projects cost the economy $1.1 trillion in economic activity last year and would have provided 1.9 million jobs in each year of construction, according to the report.
The main culprit appears to be the six year delays in the permitting process.
Given threats to the global energy supply due to events in the Middle East and greater worldwide energy demands, it is outrageous that old and new forms of energy are held up as the economy treads water and citizens pay dearly for energy costs at every level.
The solution is clear: the administration should put its own energy toward renewing its stalled promises on reviving the economy and permit all energy solutions to move forward expeditiously.

I apologize. I was frustrated and it came out at the one person who took the effort to address the issue, and that was wrong.
Accepted. No issues. Thank you and be well.
It’s not just the bans on drilling, but lack of being able to REFINE the product. We have not built a new refinery in at least 2 decades, while the population has doubled at the very least. Just one refinery offline and we are in deep trouble.

Of course he is insane. After all he is a Narcissist.
Agreed! The government lacks large.
