Rep. (D) Fred Clark: This bill will kill the middle classImpossible. First off, union members make up only 10% of the workforce. Secondly, that means that the union workers will end up being paid comparable to the other 90%...and...the unions will not get $1000 per member for union dues...saving the taxpayers...especially the other 90%...who will not be burdened with gubbmint debt. Kill the middle class? This will save the middle class from becoming serfs to to big gubbmint, big unions.

I think the current session ends today and picks up again early April, so there won’t be any “back” for the fleebaggers to come back to until then when the entire Walker budget will be debated. Speaker Fitzgerald said he expects such huge crowds that he’s exploring having the session in a large “sports arena” (Kohl Center).

Ouch. This is going to take more than 2 hours. I'm not certain but I think they can call for a vote after the 2 hours and shut up the dems.

Again, this bill is only about government employees ~ not the general public. Wisconsin is still not a RTW state, so a lot of this is a new idea to folks there.
Your typical teacher never imagined there could be life outside of the union.
Walker will need the services of folks trained in crisis intervention!

This guy is yet another lying slime. "So many restrictions on the right of the public to debate." "There's no expiration on the right to dissent."
So I guess that all debate on all bills is open 24/7/365 forever.
Thank goodness we are beginning to clean up this 50 years of marxist muck.

This is going to take more than 2 hours. It's a delay tactic - the dems want at least one or two large systems to pass a contract prior to this passing. The house speaker ought to just limit total time and be done with it.

He’s bringing in Martin Luther King, equating civil rights with collective bargaining.

Hopefully, the Republicans and Governor Walker will do something about that soon.
