There is a special place in Hell for the Westboro brigade.

She may be right about Obama. I hope for the best for President Obama personally, no matter what I may think of his political ideas. To do otherwise would be to descend into Westboro territory. Christ did not wish for us to revel in hatred.

Is Phelps really an ordained minister? Is the Westboro Baptist Church a real place of worship or just a place for kooks to hang out?

How do they afford an appeal to the supreme court? who is funding these morons?
Jim Quinn of Quinn and Rose did a little investigating and thinks they are a scam. They do their little high-profile rabble-rousing, get arrested or pushed away, then sue (or get sued) and settle for "an undisclosed amount", because they rarely lose. They ARE NOT a church. They are a family doing this under the appearance (and legal fiction) of being a church.

“Is Phelps really an ordained minister?”
What do you think it takes to be ordained? A Church body or in this case a sick cult can set their own bylaws for the ministry. You can pretty much ordain yourself pastor of the Church of the Jello Pudding Pop, and be able to use the Pastor title.

There is a duty of every human to bring forth fruit meet for repentance, she added. I have seen no evidence of that in a single leader in that nation. Note even in Algore, Fred Phelps' old friend?
To: Route797
Christ did not wish for us to revel in hatred. Would you have considered John the Baptist hateful for rebuking King Herod?
Obama is wicked and deserves the strongest condemnation.

I realize that but his “church” is called the Westboro Baptist Church, no mention of Jello Pudding Pops whatsoever. Baptists are Christians. I can’t say the same for Phelps’ group.

These people are clearly insane. I have no objective indicator otherwise.

I was actually just joking. But since the use of LOL is being questioned, I left it off.
However, there are people out their that think he is the AntiChrist.

The main question is: If the WBC is so against homosexuality, why don’t you see them protesting at gay events?
Answer: The issue isn’t homosexuality.

Is everyone aware that these freaks are liberals? They are all democrats. In fact, Fred Phelps ran for office several times as a democrat. Even more interesting is their close association with Al Gore. Phelps was a supporter of his 2008 presidential campaign, and his son was a delegate to the democrat convention that year (and voted for Gore).
You would never know any of this from media coverage, but once you know the background, you suddenly notice that strangely the media never mention ANY political affiliation for this group. Isn't that interesting? If the Westboro idiots were conservatives and registered Republicans, I think it's pretty safe to say that the media would repeat that fact endlessly. The fact that they are mute on this point speaks volumes.

Regarding your tagline, today we have NATCA and I can tell you from personal experience that they are becoming almost as bad as PATCO ever was.

I wonder if the people in that church ever ran across the Bible verse that says “in the same way you judge others, you will be judged”. These folks better really live holy lives or they will be in for a real surprise.

You should have watched the whole interview. When asked about Christina Taylor Green, she said there are no innocents, yet at the end of the interview, she said that the US military is killing innocents. The look of disbelief on Chris Wallace’s face was priceless.
Also, you should have heard the callousness with which she explained away the deaths of her own grandmother and great aunt.

By virtue of the laws of self-perpetuation and promotion they invariably do get more obnoxious. All the more reason to remember PATCO - and what was their undoing.

I wanted to listen but, just couldn't stomach her. This woman is pure evil. The thing that makes it so bad is she's claiming to be a Christian. This is in no way shape our form Christian. I'd never give this woman another minute of air time. If the media had any sense at all, they would either not mention it, or mention it in passing with no pictures.
What did she say about her grandma and aunt?

Ir's one thing to rebuke evildoers but it's another thing to enjoy the thought of their ultimate fate. I don't think John the Baptist wanted to see Herod wind up in hell. He wanted him to repent.
