Wisconsin Democrats May Return Soon
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 3/6/11 | KRIS MAHER and AMY MERRICK

Posted on 03/06/2011 5:29:34 PM PST by Ogie Oglethorpe

The leader of the 14 Wisconsin Senate Democrats who left the state last month to block legislation that would curb public-employee union rights said the senators plan to return "in the relatively near future," because negotiations with the governor have failed.

PING!

The Dims are being driven nuts by the Illinois Tea Party. Many thanks go out to our friends in Northern Illinois.

We need to start planning for the tax day tea party in Madison now.

"Instead, Friday notices were given to the unions of “possible layoffs starting early next month.”

That is exactly what Walker said he would do. He sent warnings about potential layoffs per state law.

Agreed. I wish people would actually follow the story before weighing in with negative stuff. I admire Walker and GOP efforts. We moved south of the cheddar curtain several years ago, I am really starting to regret that decision!!!

They will return as soon as all the state unions make their sweetheart deals with their pals across the negotiating tables all over our state.

From tiny villiage to Madison itself, union contracts are being rushed through while the 14 are gone. That is WHY they are gone. They are stopping Walker’s bill by being absent. While they are absent and the bill cannot be voted on, the unions are signing contracts, some for up to 3 years long. This makes the budget fix useless for now. The union thugs get their salary and bennies just like always and we taxpayers are still screwed.

The 14 should be charged with fraud or theft or something(of our tax dollars) along with all those who signed these quick contracts that avoid the changes in the bill. They are stealing money from us.

“We Won” this election and they have rendered it useless by stopping the passage of the bill that will finally help us get out from under the high taxes from paying the state unions.

They have nullified the election.

The 14 will be back as soon as all the dirty deals are done and the unions once again avoid living in the financial reality that the private sector lives in.

They are all thieves. What they have done and are still doing while they make these fast contracts, should be illegal.

If true, VERY disheartening. Sigh.

One of the dem 14 was on Greta a few nights ago. By the shuckin’ and jivin’ she was doing, it sounded like the dems know they have lost and just trying to rationalize their behavior so they can at least try to slink back with some pride. The dem was saying that they never thought they would stop the bill. The reason they fled was “to bring national attention to what Gov. Walker and the Republicans were trying to do.” When Greta asked when they were going back, she responded. “Well, I don't think today or the next...” Her entire tone sounded worn out and defeated.

And that's why the unions and Left are squealing. It isn't about contributing more to their health-care and pensions because they readily agreed to do that if Walker would get rid of the collective bargaining.

The protesters are really being used like cheap suits. They have no idea that the unions are just fighting for self-preservation and to enjoy the incestuous status-quo they have with the Democrats. It's about as pertinent to worker's rights as Obamacare is to fixing health-care.

Senator Lassa is 6 months pregnant at 40 years of age (high risk) and she has 3 and 6 year old daughters at home in Wisonsin.

She is giving in to union pressure to stay in Illinois.

What is wrong with that woman to give up family priorities and a high risk pregancy for this cause?

Those local contracts will be null and voided once Walker passes his budget repair bill.

About a third staying with the union sounds about right especially when the public workers have to now spend buku bucks on gasoline. That $100 a month or so they've been paying for union dues might now just stay in their checking accounts.

The unions will find themselves like slugs covered with salt.

The Ohio GOP senate only passed it by 1 vote. 5 or 6 GOP senators voted no. I would not rule out the possibility that it will be close.

This stuff always passes by one vote. These votes are scripted and they negotiate who gets to vote no.

If true, VERY disheartening. Sigh.

Don't believe it. Out of state FReepers don't know what the Hell they're talking about, spreading rumors and disinformation.

Walker has this in the bag. The only thing he didn't do well on was restore order in the Capitol. There should have been no one sleeping and protesting inside the Capitol and causing thousands of dollars in damages.

Oh it’s true and it’s sickening. Especially since I am a WI taxpayer.

See the sidebar for Breaking News, and there are 2 stories still listed there:

1)WI offcials rush to Walker-proof their benefits
2)140 teacher retirement requests approved(GreenBay screws taxpayers)

This has been going on all over the state.

Mark Belling of WISN 1130am in Milwaukee (a Rush sub host) who has the largest talk radio audience in WI, has been telling us for 2 weeks, of the many quick state union contracts that have been signed by these sneaky immoral tax leeches.

Belling told us about the Green Bay school district story last Friday. Before he said what it was, he warned anyone listening while driving, to be careful to stay on the road, because it was the worst outrage he’d ever heard about public teacher contracts. The Green Bay teachers can retire, and become “emeritus teachers”. This entitles them to work (in their retirement) for 10 days out of a year, and for those 10 days they are rewarded with pay in the amount of a full third of their old YEARLY salary. A third of a year’s salary for 10 days work. In the last 2 weeks, 140 of these soul-less weasels applied for and were approved to get this “emeritus” deal.

If Walker’s bill would have been voted on weeks ago, none of these deals would have been made. The 14 Rats are away, the Cat is home in the Capitol, but the Rats still win! They’ve stopped government in WI. The tail is wagging the dog.

I know, Dennis. You brought up one of the most exciting changes to come. Does anyone think that most of these entitled, free loading union groupies are going to actually pay their own union dues willingly, when it no longer comes out of their paychecks automatically?
We can only hope that the money laundering/Rat campaign coffers dry up really quickly and cause the Lib union thugs to squirm.
