(CBS News) WASHINGTON - John Dodson, an ATF federal agent, says what he was asked to do was beyond belief.
"You were intentionally letting guns go to Mexico," Attkisson asked.
"Yes ma'am," Dodson replied. "The agency was."
An Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms senior agent assigned to the Phoenix office in 2010, Dodson's job is to stop gun trafficking across the border. Instead, he says he was ordered to sit by and watch it happen.
Investigators call the tactic letting guns "walk." In this case, into the hands of criminals who would use them in Mexico and the U.S.

I mean, come on, Katie Couric and CBS evening news together with the CBS website laying out Gunwalker? Step by step, with video the ATF agents shot? How did CBS get that?
And a live senior agent, mot masked or disguised, detailing exactly what Agent Dodson reports as "was approved all the way up to the Justice Department." A Senior Agent leaving absolutely no doubt that "they confronted their supervisors over and over."
A case laid out so perfectly that a FReeper would be proud to post it?

I think we just might smell roasting scapegoat before this one is over. CBS with a lot of help from somewhere is pushing this into the mainstream news.

Well, if I read the headline right, didn’t Obama just say that the violence in Mexico is the US’s fault?
Shall we call that a confession? I’m sure he didn’t mean it as one, but what he doesn’t mean to say is a heckuva lot more accurate than what he means to say.

They do have two bad things to their credit. That E Trace thing is pretty scary to. Making gun purchasers soc sec numbers available to corrupt officials in foreign countries isn’t a very good idea either.
