Delusion - A delusion is a fixed belief that is either false, fanciful, or derived from deception. In psychiatry, it is defined to be a belief that is pathological (the result of an illness or illness process) and is held despite evidence to the contrary. As a pathology, it is distinct from a belief based on false or incomplete information, dogma, stupidity, apperception, illusion, or other effects of perception.
Delusions typically occur in the context of neurological or mental illness, although they are not tied to any particular disease and have been found to occur in the context of many pathological states (both physical and mental). However, they are of particular diagnostic importance in psychotic disorders and particularly in schizophrenia, paraphrenia, manic episodes of bipolar disorder, and psychotic depression.

We reported a story that was true, that was an uncomfortable truth for a lot of people, Rather said. As a result to that I was asked to leave the anchor chair, and eventually CBS News. Mister Rather is not in denial.
He is not "loonie"
I'm not a psychiatrist, so I can't get into this pitifully small, small man's head; however here is what I strongly suspect.
He is, without conscience of any kind, telling a calculated and premeditated lie in order to fool the foolish into according him a legacy of something other than a willful deceiver and a (would be) election thief.
He (in all self-righteousness) has no sorrow for what he has done, only that he was caught, and now will be forever known as...
Dan-the-forger!

This reminds me: I never heard Mary Mapes’s take on the 2010 election. She had so much to say in 2008 about how hate had been rejected. Wonder what she had to say this time.

What truth? Gimme a break. There was no truth to what he was reporting... if there had been it would have been ALL over the MSM - reporters would have been crawling over each other to get his side out if they could have. They hated Bush as much as he did.
The fact that they didn't, and he couldn't - means he was lying. Or he was delusional. Or there was NO credible proof to what he was reporting. It wasn't for lack of trying or lack of friends in the MSM...
