This excerpt from Peikoff's sobering work deserves a thread of its own, as it speaks directly to our present circumstances. For decades now, as Peikoff has said, we have been told by the intellectual elite that "man cannot live by principles, that reason is no guide to action, and that anything goes". We are witness now to that worldview in action as demonstrated by the filth currently infesting the highest offices in the land. We have seen the fruits of 'values-neutral' upbringing in children who cannot even articulate the basic principles of freedom.
Well, folks, it's late in the day and the killers are taking over - it's no longer a question of whether they will or not. The abrogation of the rule of law and the destruction of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution have proceeded apace for years now - and with no signs of slowing down, much less reversal. You are no longer secure in your person or your property.
It is significant that mere mention of the founding documents of this nation is now sufficient to brand you as a 'un-American' or as a dangerous 'extremist'. Now is the time for those us who have not done so to consider where your 'line in the sand' is drawn. When will you stand up and say 'no' to the next intrusion into your lives? Sadly, if we draw a line in the sand we draw it individually and that would get us arrested and thrown in jail. The authority the Founding Fathers rebelled against was 3,000 miles and 6 weeks away. The authority taking our rights today is as close as a computer screen.

The commies and Union criminals need the "rule of law" FAR, FAR more than we do. Once the break the fundamental social compact of the US Constitution...to such a degree as those who naturally hold power are at risk...those who naturally hold power with withdraw from that compact.
It's at that point the street thugs and agitators become nothing more than simple targets.
