Lesbian Army captain sent home from Afghanistan for behaving like a 'lovestruck teenager,'

A lesbian Army captain sent home from Afghanistan after she was accused of an 'inappropriate relationship' with a sergeant was behaving like a 'love struck teenager' and undermining operations, a tribunal heard today. Karen Tait, 29, who is claiming sexual discrimination against the Ministry of Defence and her commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Deborah Poneskis, upset the chain of command with her 'sly and underhand' behaviour, the employment tribunal in central London heard.

Claims: Captain Karen Tait at the tribunal. She says her commanding officer objected to her sexuality

Cpt Tait, an operations officer with the Royal Military Police, was sent home from Afghanistan in December 2009 after Lt Col Poneskis decided to cut short her tour because of alleged 'social misconduct'. The openly gay soldier, who started a sexual relationship with Sgt Caroline Graham before deployment with 4 Royal Military Police's 160 Provost Company, denies having any intimacy with her while on tour or allowing their relationship to affect her professional judgment. But she was accused of arranging to move Sgt Graham from Kandahar to Camp Bastion so they could spend more time together and adjusting their leave rotas to coincide.

She said her warrant card was removed, and on her return to the UK she was forced to take leave while an investigation was made into her misconduct. David Mitchell, representing the MoD, read from several statements from her colleagues.

He quoted Staff Sergeant Lee Truman, a senior non commissioned officer, as saying: 'I cannot emphasise enough how sly and underhand Cpt Tait has been in her decision making. She has attempted to get her friends around her and stopped at nothing to achieve this.' Another staff sergeant described an incident in which Cpt Tait was allegedly seen rubbing sun cream into Sgt Graham's hands.

This would be hilarious if it didn't happen in an area of active operations.

I guess the British Army doesn’t prohibit fraternization between officers and enlisted?

It does. That’s why she was hauled before a tribunal.

Apparently she believes same-sex fraternization is OK. She’s wrong.

“Coming soon to a US Army near you...”

Except they won’t be sent home. Only heterosexuals would be disciplined or removed.

My thoughts exactly. This is exactly how the Marxists will destroy America's military. They will enter the military as homosexuals, rise up in the ranks, wreak havoc in the ranks, and morale will plummet.

These are truly sad times.

If she had been enlisted in a U.S. branch of service, she would have had to fall under the “Don’t Look Don’t Tell” catagory because anyone looking would have known.

Fraternization is a career-ending offense, regardless of sexuality.

I'm shocked. Not.

If someone has same-sex attraction disorder and is "proud" of it enough to tell everyone, why is anyone surprised when that person starts acting out inappropriately?

Homosexual acts ARE inappropriate by definition.

This behavior has been well known for years, and was the reason why 'don't ask don't tell' even was too far - homosexuals do not belong in any military that's meant to do what a military exists for. Homosexuality until fairly recently was classed with the other narcissistic personality disorders, and that statement of the NCO above shows it's still true to form - putting her own interests above the interests of her sworn position regardless - nepotism, favoritism, sense of entitlement to do so, using every concession from political correctness to consolidate control, to serve self-interest, to perpetuate a pathology that in nature without artificial support and promotion dies a natural death.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, could have seen this coming. I mean there is no way at all that putting men and women in a forward area, with nothing to do but train, fight, or wait, would result in fraternization, increases in divorce rates, or the deterioration of morale.

I, for one, am flummoxed as to how this could have happened.

Flummoxed, mind you.

It does, and most militaries do, because an officer having an inappropriate, or sexual bias with a subordinate is destructive to military discipline. IMO, anyone who cannot discipline themselves on matters such as this should be kicked out of the military, regardless of sexuality, you simply don’t engage in such relationships with your commanding officer.

Some people say this is a deliberate attempt to undermine our military. I would argue that these military incidents are along the lines of spoiled children, only now they’re grown adults acting this way. Having had to deal with spoiled children, you would be amazed at how stuck in the impression and caring for their own achievements above all else, it doesn’t matter to them, until everyone else including them, are screwed, in which case they are the worst whiners of the bunch.

This agenda is the matter of dealing with spoiled grown adults, they care, like the spoiled child, about getting their way and their accomodations, when they have to get the message that sorry, you crossed the line, they throw their usual hissy-fits. If there’s anything that tears apart this nation, it’s so much about the fact that being spoiled, or non-altruistic, is now something that is popular, upheld, patronized, and promoted as a nationwide movement. Democracy depends on the populace being altruistic for the most part, so this is not good news.
