Alternatively, Libya has a plausible U.S. national interest in favor of limited (air support) intervention: Those who takeover may be grateful that we stopped Gaddafi’s aerial bombardment of unarmed civilians. That may be a good cost / benefit ratio for U.S. interests that also happens to be NeoCon-ish.
Agreed. Also the Serbs stood in the way of Bin Laden’s Afghani drug pipeline through the Balkans to Europe. Our troops need to be armed.
