DETROIT (AP) — In real life, Steven Demink didn't have children, a college degree or a lasting career. Online, prosecutors say, he presented himself as Dalton St. Clair, an attractive single father and psychologist — a fantasy image authorities say the Michigan man used to persuade mothers across the country to commit unspeakable acts on their children.
Demink, 41, of Redford Township, preyed on single mothers for more than a year, prosecutors say, convincing them to sexually assault their children as a form of therapy.

Only drooling automatons could be “duped” into assaulting thier own children. IMO, the mothers that he “duped” were leaning toward pervert-ism to begin with.

If he had been some sort of highly regarded, licensed therapist, recommended by the family physician or the school, I could understand it a little more, though the mothers would still be criminals. But this is a stranger these twisted mothers met in a chat room.

I was thinking of the way Jack Webb's character had of reacting to the most crazy, nut-case stories, especially in later seasons of the show. He had this way of keeping an almost perfectly neutral expression, but something in his eyes and the timing of his questions betrayed that he was outraged and furious.
Spot on. I work in Southfield, only a stone's throw from both Detroit and Redford. There are neighborhoods within a mile of here that make me nervous to drive through in broad daylight. Every third house has no front door on it.

He sounds like a typical child psychologist to me.
This reminds me of the couple who went to an Acorn office and told the workers that they managed child prostitutes. The ACORN hippos didn’t miss a beat - - they helped them.
I bet this guy found women who were desperate for a better life and would do anything for it. What I’m trying to say is that this isn’t all about stupidity and evil - - it may well be about GREED as well.
Put him in the prison’s general population; let nature take its course.
