Former Utah Sen. Bob Bennett urged Republicans to nominate a presidential candidate with a "national view," and not focus on the ideological purity found in the early caucuses and primaries.
"If you're going to nominate a national candidate, don't make the mistake of assuming that those who attend the early caucuses and early primaries speak for the nation as a whole," he said, speaking to Greta Van Susteren on Fox News on Friday. Bennett referred to 2010 midterm Senate races as a "cautionary tale" to Republicans whose candidates fail to attract moderate voters, in particular Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's write-in reelection win over tea party favorite Joe Miller. He said the tea party candidates cost the Republicans a majority in the Senate.
"If you're going to nominate a national candidate you better have a national view, and we've always done that. The Republican nominee has almost always been closer to the center than the center of gravity of the Republican party," Bennett said.

Yea, Sore Loser, we saw where that “national view” has gotten us, havent we?
Do I detect a tinge of bitterness in the good senator’s remarks? Could it be?
LOL!
It was Alaskan union money and RINOs that cost The Honorable Joe Miller a Senate seat. He was elected.. in spite of them.. and only after the fool judge ruled against Alaska's own laws did additional voter fraud hand the seat to the contemptible Moo-cow-ski.
God willing, we're not going to let that happen again. It's time regular Constitutionally literate Americans start electing people instead of the half wit me me crowds.
I saw that interview and couldn’t help but think that he’s very bitter, and doesn’t want to face the fact the the electorate has changed. He blamed everyone but himself, and, indeed, acted like a victim.
Bless his heart...
Love the graphic...lol
BTTT!
“What we need to do is weed the old codgers from the ranks of the political professionals and make the Republican party LOOK YOUNG (even if we are hankering after the good old days).”
I’m hankering for the Reagan days, and there are quite a few young people who are, too, even if they weren’t alive during his era.
“Wish you guys would quit wasting RINO on people who weren’t and aren’t. We’ll never get anybody to run for us in Rhode Island again if you keep doing that.”
LOL! I live in Oregon...home of Rep. David Wu, D - Nutz.
Now that he's mentally ill and can really show us what the Democrats are like everybody wants him to just leave.
Those Democrats are so cruel to their own aren't they.
A$$ hat RINOs like Bennett cannot even begin to define their oppoenents as leftist liberal fascists destroying America, hell, it might take them away from the meaningless center, the drone neuter-ville safety of later non-action and feeding at the pork trough as their solitary purpose.
RINOS should be frog marched into a facility set up for mass tarrings and featherings , there processed anonymously, so they can keep their vaunted. No one wants it.
RINOs do nothing to resecure the nation from demographic invasion, nor do they have the slightest degree of fiscal responsibility. The RINOs are traitors to an entire nation.Their philosphy has put that thing some call president into the White Hut. He has sealed his records, we do ot know in fact where he was born, and he betrays the allies of the USA, including Israel.
Obama may go the route of other tyrants yet, but one thing we do know, the RINOS helped put him there, to their ever lasting shame and infamy.....and they deserve to pay for it at the polls, big time.
The establishment has done many things that are worthy of outrage, but that does not justify claiming they did or did not do things that in reality did not happen. Stick to the facts - not emotion.
Wu was never, ever...in our wildest dreams...anything other than a ‘rat.
He voted at least 97% of the time with Pelosi.
He’s not mentally ill...he’s a drunk.
“Those Democrats are so cruel to their own aren’t they.”
LOL! You snared me!
You’re goooood. lol
BTW, he plans on running in ‘12.
Ha! More FReepers agreed with me than you!
So?
