At the Capitol on February 25, 2011, my husband and I confront protesters who are using the Veterans Memorial as a place to tape a lot of signs and pile up their stuff. They say that we are the first people to have a problem with it.
I do think it’s in poor taste to utilize this memorial for an activist bulletin board.
It does not reflect well on those using it for that purpose.
DENIAL doesn’t mitigate that fact.
Naturally, you reciprocated by taping “Kick Me” signs on their backs?
I think they are using the entire building disrespectfully.
Now that they ‘understand’, now that they ‘know’, what have they done about it?
I just posted the video; it isn’t mine. I’m not sure I could have restrained myself...
Not to make excuses for them, but they did look pretty young and I believe it truly is ignorance, it is not uncommon for this ignorance and general lack of respect for veterans. They are products of public education which honors those that are undeserving of honor and dishonors those that are worthy of respect and honor.
She’s a liberal law professor that is beginning to appear more and more conservative or maybe just disgusted at the anti-American attitude of the left.
So did the stuff get removed?
This ‘occupation’ goes a little beyond ‘petitioning for a redress of grievances’...
I have no idea...not my video. I should have made that clear; I was using the text from the party that posted it. Apologies. :-)
Colleges and universities have REALLY lowered their standards...
These people are running our country.
Thank you for not caring.
This explains how little our young teachers know about history, patriotism, and sacrafice. And why the children they teach are going to be lacking in respect for our country, our laws, and our eternal struggle to remain free.
I pray this whole union/taxpayer head-butting will bring a new surge of patriotism and respect to the educational system. This gives us insight into the character and knowledge of these teachers, and of what our universities have done to the brightest and keenest minds. May we finally bring an end to the failed ways of the past.
Notice I said “pray,” because I have very little hope!
No doubt. This is the definition of Mob Rule.
Particularly on this event - she has been doing some of the essential reporting that the regular media does not do. Since the Capitol is about a 20 minute stroll away from the University of Wisconsin Law School, she (sometimes, her husband) has been able to walk there and photograph and interview on video some of these fools manning the protest site. Nothing like cinema verité interviews with these folks, expressing very plainly their feeble grasp on the issues involved. I can imagine this situation, because I lived in Madison for 20 years (and attended the University of Wisconsin Law School - but now regret that I never took a course taught by Prof. Althouse.)
I recommend that you read her blog.
Can't find the thread but the state capitol is supposed to be closed for cleaning tomorrow. Never seen the left leave a protest in any semblance of cleanliness and I don't think they'll start now. I hope somebody gets plenty of pictures of the area and especially that memorial just before they close it tonight.
Send the video here: http://www.rollingthunder1.com/and let the education begin.
First-Amendment-irony bump.
