Help defund the unions by forbidding the use of state funds to collect union dues

Today I had an absolutely BRILLIANT thought (if I must say so myself). Why not make it illegal to use state funds, computers, and personnel to collect union dues? I mean, why should the state have to spend taxpayer money to collect the union dues and distribute them to the unions?

Make the individuals contribute the money themselves through an automatic band draft or write a check. The unions will have HELL trying to collect their dues!

John Thrasher Rep FL beat you to it.

Rush explained it this way today.

Unions are some of biggest donors to Democrat party. States collect union dues (pd by taxpayers) and unions give to Dem party. Taxpayers are funding the dem party and why didn’t we figure this out sooner.

Rush said it’s money laundering.

This is the part of Gov. Walker’s bill that the legislature should be able to pass without any Democrat support or even the Dem senators being present because it does not involve fiscal matters. States certainly should not be using taxpayer money to do business for the unions.

UNIONS: Representing those not bright enough to represent themselves since unions began. All this and we only need a little piece of your paycheck every two weeks for the rest of your life.

Yep, as others said, MY governor Walker, has wisely put that in the budget fix bill that the dems are so upset about.

My husband works for the state of WI. We hate that he is forced to have union dues stolen from his paycheck and given to liberal union bosses to promote politics we are opposed to.

Walker is well known from his days as Milwaukee county exec, as a man who does just what he promises to do.

I am confident he will get this bill passed, and the union bosses will no longer be taking money from us to work against us.

That is what the national union thugs are most upset about, the loss of their ability to rake in all that money from all those state workers.

It will dry up their power. They most fear the loss of their power.

I thought dems were low, but those 14 dems who are hiding south of our border...what can you say about people so utterly without courage, without decency? They are obstructing democracy. We elected conservatives here in WI for once, and the dems take their toys and leave the state. The are lower than pond scum. I’d call them children, but children don’t behave as badly as these full grown metrosexual new castrati loser dems. They’ve ruined the state for decades. We finally have a good governor. I pray he succeeds in making Wisconsin fiscally sound again.

End of Cheesehead rant. Good evening Freepers. I am going to bed.

UNIONS-----> So corrupt they FORCE members to pay dues and use them in ways many union rank and file DO NOT WANT THEIR DUES USED! Why aren't those dues used to HELP UNION members directly?

And worse, why do UNIONS fight closed voting so that members can not privately vote for whatever issue is before them?

It is sick.

It is a scam.

And as you pointed out, WHY IN THE HELL DO THOSE OF US NOT IN A UNION (that comprises approx. only 12 percent of those working in our nation) have give even ONE CENT of our tax dollars to help pay for UNION BUSINESS?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I’d love to see all union checkoffs banned at the federal level. Let these merry bands of thugs do their own billing.

After about the 3rd documented case of a member being assaulted by the union dues collection thugs, the whole union could be brought up on RICO charges and be disbanded.

I love it!

I've mentioned before how impossible it is for a teacher to stay out of the NEA, or more importantly; to keep them from taking the $1400 they take in dues. The teacher is targeted and most end up leaving teaching as a career or are fired; no joke this is the honest truth and reality.

Why taking collective bargaining away from the NEA is so important. It would force the NEA to become more centrist or they would lose members. Believe me, NEA Today drives me nuts every month too. There are many conservative teachers who just want to be left alone to teach and live their lives; not whacked out like the left. I sure hope they take collective bargaining away all across our Country.

This is a very good tactic. It has been used in New York most recently against the Transport Workers Union when it went on strike during Christmas week a few years back. It was not enforced for long (maybe a few pay cycles),but it sent a strong message. Good thinking anyway. Essays like this serve well to get conversations started and that is what we need to get our country out of this obamamess.

Good teachers should not need a union.
Unfortunately, the good one’s with less seniority get the boot. Actually happened here in Wisconsin....”Teacher of the Year” (a young, first term teacher) will get the pink slip and will not be replaced this fall due to “budget cuts”. Two, more senior’s (poor teachers I might add) will remain employed...Just NOT FAIR!!!
