Even GOP activists are turning against Sarah Palin

ROCK HILL, S.C. — As Sarah Palin wonders whether to run for president, she might want to talk to people in places such as South Carolina.

She'd find her star fading, and her prospects daunting.

Republicans still like her, but now they openly question whether she could or should be nominated for president, let alone elected.

At a recent gathering in South Carolina, the site of a crucial early presidential primary next year, party activists said the former Alaska governor didn't have the experience, the knowledge of issues or the ability to get beyond folksy slang and bumper-sticker generalities that they think is needed to win and govern.

Many are shopping for someone else. They're looking at Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for example, and seeing what they call a smarter, more experienced candidate who's equally as conservative.

"Sarah Palin with a brain," said Gail Moore, a Republican from Columbia.

Romney can not win the nomination.

I would love to see Jan Brewer run. She is one tough gal.

She is much better off holding her own in Arizona with Sheriff Joe. The Libs would love to break that up.

And I think The Donald may throw a kink in the whole thing

He’ll have little impact. Palin will serve with a servant’s heart. Seems like the Donald has always been out for the Donald. The candidates like Cain and Trump would be running to win their first elective office. They talk a good game but maybe they should try to be a mayor first.

How about Brewer/West? I like that better. Brewer has more experience and has proven to stand up to critics in a much more successful way.

I think Sarah belongs as a fundraiser, maybe head of the RNC. If she can straighten out that mess, maybe she could be president. As it is now, I do not believe she has the experience we need. I would like to see her as a Senator or something else, where she could cut her teeth on making national policy. I would like to see her successfully run something before she is given the Resolute desk!

“She’s not really creative,” said Swain Shepperd, a retiree from Rock Hill. “She just repeats what’s already been said by others.”

Why then, Swain, ol' buddy, ol' pal, can she make a post on her Facebook page...and the political earth move the next day?

Oh, I think she could have a much bigger impact as President! Hey, her and Sheriff Joe could still be a team. He could be head of homeland security! Hey, wouldn’t the libs like that?!

>> The fact is that just today the recent Gallop Poll came out and it’s a statistical dead heat between Romney Palin Huckabee. ...period...it will be Romney or Palin. <<

The fact is that back in 2007, every major poll on the GOP presidential nomination before the candidates had announced showed a statistical dead heat between

Giuliani
Thompson
Romney

...period...leaving freepers to speculate the nominee would be either Rudy or Fred Thompson.

It appears many since then haven't learned from the fallacy of early polling on hypothetical candidates.

First of all polls this early on matchups or peoples preferences before anyone actually runs are historically meaningless-(i tell Freepers that to no avail) that’s a fact (if you want to argue that point I can go on from early polls in 2007 all the way back to 1979 on both sides of the aisle, you will lose)

Second of all the MSM for the most part is highly negative towards Palin, Tea Party and conservatives in general but she had felt the brunt of it like no one in recent memory outside of President Bush (she isn’t President yet), it’s hard to separate their snarky approach to anything, its all about creating a narrative to the readers

- If I was a news service I can find five TEA party activists in S.C. that don’t like Romney! If I hate the pope I can find five church activist that don’t like the Popes actions- Palin is not liked by people in the GOP, WH, media etc......she isn’t perfect (no one is) but it takes a common sense person to see a HIT PIECE for what it is ‘A HIT PIECE’

I can answer that by asking the question, “who is Brewer”?

Palin ran a town and a state as Governor. She has executive experience. But, her biggest asset is that she has been the only Republican to attack Obama non stop.

She will appoint great people to Cabinet positions like businessmen and Bolton for Sec of State.

Senators really don’t run anything except bills to the hopper. Representatives are alomost never elected President. There is a reason that Pence is going to run for Governor.

There are 3 candidates in a dead heat...the two that can go the distance are Romney and Palin...those are the political facts. Republicans don’t take 2 percenters and nominate them.

And here's how Palin ranks for the general election 2012.

www.cbsnews.com (not exactly Palin-friendly territory)

Do you think Sarah Palin can win the presidency in 2012?

Yes ---------- 85%
No ---------- 15%
I don't know - 0%

She got forced out of the Alaskan governor’s office by a fluke of law as abused with impunity by a small pack of beady eyed rats. What the rats did not expect is that she was going to spring, phoenix-like, right back on the scene when her office went down in flames. This is more than personal creativity — it is devine design.

Anybody that follows GOP politics knew tht Giuliani’s support was weak and that he would never get through a GOP Primary as a liberal.

Two other significant things happened in that GOP Primary:

1. Conservatives weren’t united and McCain just wrapped up the Establishment GOP vote...divide and be conquered.

2. The people that started with less than 5 percent support, stayed under 5 percent support.

Romney or
Palin

Take it to the bank.
