ROCK HILL, S.C. As Sarah Palin wonders whether to run for president, she might want to talk to people in places such as South Carolina.
She'd find her star fading, and her prospects daunting.
Republicans still like her, but now they openly question whether she could or should be nominated for president, let alone elected.
At a recent gathering in South Carolina, the site of a crucial early presidential primary next year, party activists said the former Alaska governor didn't have the experience, the knowledge of issues or the ability to get beyond folksy slang and bumper-sticker generalities that they think is needed to win and govern.
Many are shopping for someone else. They're looking at Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for example, and seeing what they call a smarter, more experienced candidate who's equally as conservative.
"Sarah Palin with a brain," said Gail Moore, a Republican from Columbia.

It’s the Reagan /Palin hater, pissant again!
My read on the two gals is that they will come to an amicable accommodation early in the game. They don’t really disagree all that much on political positions. They’ll read the polls and come to a mutual decision who will be the VP-apparent and who will run for the presidential slot. Either way a 16-year “chick dynasty” is not out of the question.
Coulter as Press Secretary. Viewership would skyrocket. Mark Levin as Attny Gen.
Pray for America
You get no qtr from me. I am glad you survived the pitfalls and addictions of your life.
America needs her exceptional liberty restored. Your credibility is shot. Good Day
So every single poll, every single negative article about Palin is wrong? Is that what you’re saying?

‘...Gail Moore, a Republican from Columbia.’
Well, that explains it.
I do believe the source was indicated. If you want to lump in ABCCBSNBS, TIMEWARNER, SNL, DAILYSHOW, and any of the newspaper rags that reflect AP then do so. BTW ask them for a positive spin on Americans lives.
I don’t know. I think Jindal, Rubio and Col. West could have a shot...
not even a nkl
That’s about a Qtr from two years ago. ;^)
Rubio is not running...Jindal likely won’t run, he has no money....Fond of West.
But writing on the wall...Romney or Palin.
Palin/West works
“She’s not really creative,” said Swain Shepperd, a retiree from Rock Hill. “She just repeats what’s already been said by others.”
And I think The Donald may throw a kink in the whole thing.
You got that right.
Would these be the same people that tried to take down Nikki Haley during the governors race? It would figure.
The way West handled that CAIR member the other day...he is impressive.
I’m not thrilled with any of our current choices altho I prefer Bachmann over Palin, and I have no idea why so many people like Smuckabee, unfortunately Cain and West won’t be running. You think they’d have a better chance than Alan Keyes did?
