Capitol Chaos: Dems Demand Compromise

ILLINOIS - At an Illinois hotel, Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller of Monona spoke to reporters just minutes after Governor Scott Walker finished his fireside chat.
Senator Miller told reporters that the Democratic senators who are currently hiding out in Illinois will return to Madison and vote when Governor Walker will agree to a "compromise."

"The issue before us is about rights," Miller said. "That's what we are here for today is protect the rights of workers. Wisconsin has one of the longest traditions of workers rights in the country."
When asked about the Friday deadline, and if the Democrats feel responsible if they refuse to vote and 1,500 state employees will be laid off, Miller responded: "The governor made it happen. He can stop it. He can make this stop in a minute and all he has to do is be willing to compromise. Workers gave him what he wants in order to balance the budget, so let them keep their rights."

The Rats never compromise when they are in the majority. Unfortunately RINOs will and frequently do compromise when they have control. Walker appears to be made of sterner stuff.
Just keep saying we won, that should quell their tantrum.
I pointed out yesterday to my wife, note how the rats say compromise is important and should be promoted. Think back to when (.)bamacare was being pushed through the congress...not only was their no compromise, it was take it or leave it, here is the bill, don’t like it, tough...we have the votes.
When they continue this commentary, we need to consider a quote from Eastwood in Dirty Harry: Take your point of view and use it as a suppository...
God I hope Walker stands tough. Please please please don;t give an inch.

I say they compromise as much as Nanzi did on the health care takeover.
in the green Bay press gazette the green Bay School District has informed the paper that it is making forth an effort to have the paperwork processed before the March 15, 2011 deadline for collective baragaining about the number of teachers to be laid -off. In Green Bay they are screaming that Scott Walker is the fault of teacher lay-offs. Interesting development. If anyone is interested in

In 2010, the union membership rate--the percent of wage and salary workers who were members of a union--was 11.9 percent, down from 12.3 percent a year earlier, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The number of wage and salary workers be- longing to unions declined by 612,000 to 14.7 million. In 1983, the first year for which comparable union data are available, the union membership rate was 20.1 per- cent, and there were 17.7 million union workers.
Highlights from the 2010 data:
--The union membership rate for public sector workers (36.2 percent) was substantially higher than the rate for private sector workers (6.9 percent).
--Workers in education, training, and library occupations had the highest unionization rate at 37.1 percent.
--Black workers were more likely to be union members than were white, Asian, or Hispanic workers.
--Among states, New York had the highest union membership rate (24.2 percent) and North Carolina had the lowest rate (3.2 percent).
It may not be a good idea for such a minority percentage of the population to continue causing problems for the vast majority of working Americans while (D) legislators show people they are on the side of the disruptors.
The republican position already IS a compromise. They can collectively bargain on wages but not benefits.
The senate majority leader should agree to a compromise. THen, when they are back, one of the other republicans should offer an amendment to strike the agreement, and all the republicans except the leader can vote for it, and when the democrats scream about it, the majority leader can say he kept his word, and at least the republicans didn’t all go crying off to illinois.
A REPUBLICAN should offer up legislation that allows for a windfall tax be placed on union pensions and benefits that exceed an average of those benefits received by those of us in the private sector.
The demons like taxes so much give them one.
