In their latest attempt to force Dems back to the Senate, GOP leaders have voted to require their missing counterparts to pick up their paychecks, per diems or any expense check in person on the chamber floor.
Senate Org voted by paper ballot today 3-2 along party lines to impose the requirement on any senator absent without leave for two or more days.
The ballot also suspends direct deposit for any lawmaker absent and specifies the majority leader will only provide the checks to the missing senators and only on the Senate floor during a session day.

Very cool - so the only way the Dems will get paid is to show up on the Senate floor. How long do you think they will be able to hold out now?

How long do you think they will be able to hold out now? As long as the AFL-CIO keeps paying them.

I don’t think ANY of the Dem’s need the money (the DNC will float them any funds they need). They CAN’T lose this battle, as it’s already spreading to other states where Democrats refuse to show up for work.....and it’s not being well-recieved as a tactic by MOST Americans. (Not showing up for work is a Union benefit that is being protected, too!)

The senate gig is more than likely not their primary income. It is a part time job at least in Maryland it is.

What is “Senate Org”? And what does it mean that they voted by “paper ballot along party lines 3-2”. I thought the Democrats were all missing. Who voted?

They can pick up their checks in person...for doing what? Why are they still being paid at all?

Setting the stage for some good Wi citizens to sue any rat Wi state senator for fraud for getting paid and not being in the state nor working.

As long as the AFL-CIO keeps paying them. Why isn't that money considered undue influence, ie BRIBES???

They should also be required to file full disclosure of all funds made available to them and who is paying for their room and board. For tax purposes.
