I have to agree with you Frantizie, there is a huge denial gap on. It is actually quite normal for it to exist.
What happens when the oil is cut off? What happens when the IMF dumps the dollar? What happens when hyper-inflation hits?
There is no turning this around right now, the time for stopping or even slowing this is long since gone. We are to the beginning of the ...going through the collapse...
...but what is truly different in America is we have forces strongly at work to divide Americans, instead of uniting them to come out the other side a better and stronger nation. If this had happened and in some ways it did happen on 9/11, we could pull through. Ten years and the likes of elected progressives/communists in office have removed and contaminated the Spirit of America.

I worked for a minority owned construction company in detroit....bid on some of the finest school buildings one can dream up or imagine...detroit schools have some of the finest buildings that money can buy.....and graduation rates up there in the high 20% range....now I wonder what is wrong there??? Bob Bobb has been the best thing to happen to detroit schools, and has been fought every step of the way by a corrupt school board and teachers union. He is leaving when his contract is up. This will be a sad day for detroit when he goes...

Actually, on a per-capita basis, California is STILL by far the worst. Only Nevada comes close.

Frantzie, like myself I bet you have been in the Corp environment during a downsize/restructuring. It is done for a host of reasons, but it usually centers on the bottom line, making money and by extension getting the balance sheet clean.
What is interesting Obama Ran on Hope and Change, I will guess you and I wanted real hope and change, since the days of Mr. Newt, i.e. a Restructuring of Fedzilla. It didn't happen, in-fact, Obama kept the pallor game running with debt, and now the GOP House won't let him do anymore.
Tangent to this is the power of the Treasury / Federal Reserve to print willy nilly is enough to make you want to put a Ron Paul for Pres bumper sticker on, but I digress...
Back to the States, it is interesting they have to live by their Constitutions and the accounting equation and have no printing presses and being the laboratory of the Republic are doing the right thing and what people are asking them to do, be fiscally prudent.
It is amazing, folks are leading closer to home while Disneyland on the Potomac is still in denial.
Looking at what is happening at the State and local level, their is hope for the future.
I will make a bold prediction. Watch Michigan and remember this post 5 year from now. Michigan is going to stage a turnaround that will amaze people with Snyder at the helm. As my Friend's CPA wife notes about his budget blueprint in the highest compliment she a CPA can give another CPA ( Snyder ) "Gosh this guy gets the numbers". What he is doing to make the business environment business friendly was also noted by my "Auto Gnome" that will really make it friendly for small businesses. It may even get him on the VP radar screen for Sarah.

China has no problem educating its children. Their class sizes start around 45 students per class.

How is it that college freshmen routinely attend large lecture classes of 100 or more students, but 3 months earlier their government teachers insisted on classes of 20 or less?
