MADISON – The head of the state’s largest teachers union is calling on all teachers to return to the classroom Monday, unless their contract gives them a day off for Presidents Day.

Mary Bell of the Wisconsin Education Association Council made her comments in a teleconference with reporters Sunday afternoon.

Asked if her call applies to the rest of the week, Bell said: ”We are speaking about Monday and Tuesday. I have no idea where things will be next week, but we are saying it is time for teachers to be back in classrooms with their students ... Whatever comes next will be determined by the actions that we see.”

"This fight is not over. We will continue to be active and visible at the Capitol and in towns thorughout the state because we are passionate about preserving the rights of workers," Bell said.

Think maybe that he is seeing the backlash forming? Actually, it is too late for the unions and the teachers. They have dug their own graves.

Did their union strike money run out? It’s expensive hiring criminal and goons, then bussing them in-state.

If the polling data was favorable for the teachers, they would continue calling in sick.

I checked the calendars for Madison and Miwaukee. They have an expanded Christmas break. No mid winter Pres Day break, and do not take off for Vets day, Columbus Day or Pres Day.They do recess for Thanksgiving,MLK,Memorial Day and Labor Day. Here in the East schools are usually off during Pres week.If that was the case in Wi. this upcoming week would have been interesting.

I’m a worker - are they interested in my rights ? I’m not a union worker. Is is worker rights ? Or the six-figure jobs and political power of union bosses ?

CAN UNIONS WITHSTAND A COMPLETE HOUSECLEANING DECADE-LONG INVESTIGATION INTO ROOTING OUT ALL CONNECTIONS WITH ORGANIZED CRIME AND LEFT-WING RADICALS ?

When is that rotten stuff going to get cleaned out ? When ?

Can NJ say it is 100% mob free ??? Come on NJ, let’s root it out. What about NY ? Why does every state government not work on rooting out ALL mob, drug, crime and treason connections with every union ?

Do politicians and law enforcement want gangs ? Do they want terrorists ? When are we going to get serious ?

Unions are just a part of the whole mess, but they certainly have tons of relationships all over and they have a lot of financial records that can be investigated.

They routinely direct their members to use buddy-buddy Credit Unions for all their banking needs instead of using banks.

If these relationships were really investigated, a lot of stinking garbage would be dug up.

“The head of the state’s largest teachers union is calling on all teachers to return to the classroom Monday, unless their contract gives them a day off for Presidents Day.”

Ms Bell says “IT’S SHOOOOOOOOOOWTIME in Madison”. If anybody would know about Union contracts this woman should.
She knows damned good and well they have the day off, or if they don’t.

Total idiots. Monday is a holiday. Probably did it on purpose and will demand double pay for working a holiday.

Turn about is fair play.

Student can defund the systems by not showing up for classes. All they need is a doctor’s excuse. State funds are allocated by attendance.

Sorry, One union official coming to their senses does not make up for the ignorant actions by the rest of the union bosses. Too little too late.

You union creeps have shown just how out of touch with America that you are and it is now time to reign in you and the union membership. Yes, that means the teachers (some of which are great), many of which are awful and should have been fired years ago.

Actually, it is past time to go private school competition and break the unions once and for all if the competence (ie. learning) of students is the desired result (not likely with union teachers).
