The 42-foot tall Colorado blue spruce snapped at its base during high winds Saturday morning in Washington.
The spruce had been in its current location for more than 32 years. It came from the Myers family farm outside of York, Pennsylvania, the Park Service said.

It assessed it's proximity to the current occupant at 1600 Penn Ave., and opted to commit suicide.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Perhaps, this is another sign that the Church age has ended and the 70 week of Daniel has already begun.
Honestly, that wouldn't surprise me one bit. Given the fact that in all of human history, only two people have been raptured (and both of them are scheduled to come back and meet their ends in Israel in modern times) I don't think a pre-tribulation rapture is consistent with scripture. It's consistent with the easy-believism of the 20th century, but not with the previous 20 centuries. I think we're going to go smack dab into the tribulation. I already see signs of the great falling away among us - blatantly in some corners, more subtley in others.

Karma.

50 million babies have been sucked out their mother’s wombs, and the Islamo-fascist in chief finds nothing disturbing that the organization paid to do this by U.S. taxpayers also helps cover up child-prostitution rings. But God is mad at a Christmas tree? That’s some first-rate sick belief system at work, there.

Obummer wants to replace it with a Tannenbummer
To: Lazlo in PA
It is Bush's fault, he planned it perfectly. I suppose now Obama will need another
vacation to contemplate whether anybody heard it fall.

Will it be replaced, and will the replacement be a “Christmas tree” or will it be the “National Winter Spruce” or some other such nonsense?

Does this event have anything to do with the Toomer Oaks and the Alabama - Auburn feud?
To: sagar
Hmm. Perhaps. I don’t think God thinks much of the practice. See Jer. 10:1-5

You mean the “Winter Holiday” tree?

We were in DC this December and out our hotel window we saw this greenish-blue tree. I was SO disappointed when i found out it was the National Christmas tree.
I guess I was expecting the tree in NY Rockefeller center.....

If people actually worshiped the damn thing, actually ascribing supernatural power to it (like in Old Testament paganism), there would be a point to that. If people worship anything other than God today, it’s probably themselves.

You can tell that was photo-shopped! Bambi wouldn’t know which end of a chain saw to hold. Besides the guy in that picture isn’t wearing Bambi’s mom-jeans.
