Judge denies Madison School District request to stop teacher sick-out
Wisconsin State Journal ^ | 2/18/11 | Ed Treleven

Dane County Circuit Court Judge Maryann Sumi denied a Madison School District request to force teachers back into the schools. But a lawyer for Madison Teachers Inc., the local teachers union, said in court teachers will return to school Tuesday. The district late Friday filed for a temporary restraining order to bar teachers from taking part in any further work stoppages such as teacher demonstrations that have closed schools three days this week. The filing characterizes the work stoppage as an illegal strike. Strikes by teachers are prohibited by state law.

It’s way past time for the U.S. taxpayers to have a little “sick out” of their own!

What part of a signed contract doesn’t this judge understand. Oh, wait. Never mind.

Wow. I feel sorry for the regular people (not the lefty nuts) who live in Madison. Where do the Madison parents go to recover lost wages or increased child care costs with judges like this on the bench?

It’s pretty clear that the kids aren’t the most important thing to teachers, unless they can be used as props in a job action.

She also said the three-day work stoppage was not a strike.

What is it, A ham sandwich?

Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with fraudulantly calling out of work. In essence, we are hostage to these unions.

FIRE THEM ALL!!!!

With the current UE rates, I’m SURE there will be many people needing to fill those jobs! All unions need to be broken!

A lawless judge aiding and abetting lawless teachers.

A work stoppage isn’t a strike...and an unprovoked punch in the nose isn’t battery.

Obviously, Judges are elected not appointed in Madison. She wants to keep her job. I would have expected this.

Yup. Hostages.

And you watch. In just about every major metropolitan district, come about August, a select few schools will have strikes.

They NEVER fix up the contracts in June or July, they wait till after school starts.

I’ve been watching the same thing happen over and over for years in the Seattle area. It’s clockwork perfection.

A strike is not a strike.

The judge is promoting anarchy.

“It’s pretty clear that the kids aren’t the most important thing to teachers, unless they can be used as props in a job action.”

It’s a double whammy against the kids.

Not only is it obvious these teachers care more about themselves but are also willing to straddle these same kids with debt they are helping to run up.

Mark Belling (pre-eminent local conservative talk show host) made a very good point. He said that if the Madison school board is going to court to try to force the teachers back into the classroom, that means that they have been hearing from parents in the Madison district or they wouldn’t have bothered. This is a good turn of events.

As long as they offer a certified doctor’s excuse or don’t get paid, it doesn’t matter.

The school board attorney should gill every teacher till they crack. They must prove where they were for all three days

They lie, they are fired

How long will it take for all these kids out there, with the signs and chants, to be cursing out their teachers when they have to stay in school until the middle of summer because of the teachers’ strike.

No notes from their doctors means they’ve abandoned their jobs then. Time to take applications!

The idea is to force these idiots to stay away from our schools - forever. Most of these “teachers” could be replaced by any 60+ year old from off the street.

The oldsters would 1) know more history, 2) know more math, and most important 3) know that socialism/communism/Obamaism has NEVAH succeeded.

Anywhere.

Gads, teachers are soooooo dumb.

Up your smelly Obama, “education” union. See you at McDonalds - make mine without cheese Obamaholes.
