obama should keep his nose out of our states business Gov. Walker is doing what he was elected to do.
It looks like the Democrats need Truant Officers to ensure that they show up for work.
What a poor example for children to see that you can "play hooky" if you do not like your assignment. It is hard to imagine adults behaving so childishly. But then again, we are talking about people with disordered minds (Democrats) being elected to office.
My bottom line on this issue is there is no collective bargaining possible as long as the union involved gets to make unlimited campaign contributions to only one party. When, NOT if, this happens Joe taxpayer (you and me) effectively make contributions to that political party wither not we want to.
If public service unions want to collectively bargain for raises and benefits paid for by Republican and Democratic tax payers then public service unions MUST contribute equally, time and money, to both political parties.
To do otherwise is to continue to conduct fraudulent, not in good faith, bargaining. Proof of statement - why is Obama involved? Why are union “supporters” being bused in?
Waiting for ZerO's next "acted stupidly" gaffe.
Forget the State Troopers, send this guy ...
I wonder if there a state law regarding law makers who walk off their job.
Is there period of time after which they could be deemed as having quiting their jobs?
Is country and western doper willie nelson paying their expenses like he did in Texas?
LLS
Good idea in thoery to send in this guy. But the writers of the show might have a different idea. Being on the far left (Noam Chomsky types), they might send this guy in to arrest the Gov.
Send state troopers after him, then what? Has he broken a law?
I don’t think though that they can go into another state to get them?
From what I have seen, the Wisconsin House and Senate both have broad powers to discipline their own members who refuse to do their jobs (i.e.: refuse to attend). Given that, the arrest of the recalcitrant dems could be quite legal, provided they are in the jurisdiction of the arresting officers.
With this kind of example happening in our schools system imagine what the kids are thinking....let alone the crooks on the streets now. Beginning to feel like this is no longer the USA....crazy happenings anymore and defy imagination not so long ago.
The Repubs should pass the "no-withholding-of-dues" legislation as a stand-alone bill. Not being part of an appropriations bill, it would not need a 3/5ths quorum.
Better yet, pass a bill making Wisc a right-to-work state.
Unless they start passing legislation calculated to make Dems scream, I'm regarding this as political Kabuki theater.
Someone who has been arrested is generally taken to jail, not to the senate. Gov may face some law suits if he tries to compel someone to go to the senate.
Of course it all depends on what the law says.
Raylan Gibbons is hot!
The legislation is unnecessary. They should simply enforce Communications Workers v. Beck established that a union may not withhold without permission.
Agreed as to Beck. However, it is also important (and valuable) to have a State statute enacted along the same lines, or even go further if such action is do-able.
Have someone file a lien against this guy’s house and force him to show up in court to defend his property. That drags him back into the state or he forfeits his house.
