MADISON, Wis. A group of Wisconsin lawmakers blocked passage of a sweeping anti-union bill Thursday by ignoring orders to attend a vote and instead left the state to force Republicans to negotiate over the proposal.
As ever-growing throngs of protesters filled the Capitol for a third day, the 14 Democrats disappeared from the Capitol. They were not in their offices, and aides said they did not know where any of them had gone.
Hours later, one of them told The Associated Press that the group had left Wisconsin.
Sen. Jon Erpenbach said Democrats fled to slow down consideration of the bill in the hopes that Republican Gov. Scott Walker and GOP lawmakers would discuss changes.

Effing cowards.
a Posse should be formed to catch them. Hog tie the vermin and bring them back. Or even a Bounty. Dog would catch them.
I heard it was a bus trip. Hopefully they come across some glare ice on a hairpincurve along the side of a mountain...
Why don’t the Republicans reciprocate when a democrat favorite is up for a vote?
Didn’t Texas legislators do something similar to this about 10 years ago? ... leave to avoid a vote I mean.
Pass it by acclamation. The Dihms do it, why not the Pubs?
The Gov needs to have the state police round them up and bring them back. Suspend their pay.
Declare them AWOL and let the governor appoint replacements.
Chicken-s#!t ass-wipes.
Politico has broken the news this morning that Obamas campaign arm Organizing for America is responsible for most of the chaos, and has been filling bus after bus with protestors and shuttled them to the State Capitol. This was not a spontaneous uprising - this was an organized effort by Barack Obama to further his radical, leftist agenda.
Dear AP: what you call anti-union I call pro-taxpayer.
This is a typical delaying tactic to allow MORE Union thugs and out-of-town hired riot-inciters to be bussed in to strong-arm the teachers who might be reluctant to join in the “protests”, and to mangle anyone who is on the other side and gets in their way.....
I would seem to me to be a great time to t-up a number of votes Repubs like.
Hold committee meetings and pass smaller bills along so that when the Dems return, a whole pile of Repub bills are ready for a vote.
I have always dreamed of a day when all the Dems leave town!!!
If there are any Freepers in the area, start photographing license plates (out-of-state) and out-of-town plates. For sure, there are gonna be Union thugs coming from everywhere to join the “Brothers and Sisters”.
This tactic of hiding will be used again , state by state, as our nation has to face tough choices ahead.
The remaining legislatures need start impeachment proceedings on those that refuse to work their elected positions.
Let the Gov replace those that have been impeached.
The Demos left Texas in 2003....not last year.
fire and replace them all. They don’t deserve their jobs when they can just walk off so they don’t have to do something...in their case VOTE! This should be addressed and punished immediately.
