TUESDAY MIDDAY--- BREAKING NEWS ON OBAMACARE REPEAL:
The House Rules Committee has rejected Rep. Steve King's proposal to FULLY DEFUND ObamaCare, failing to agree to "protect" King's amendment when it comes to the House floor.
Bottom line -- Republicans on the Rules Committee refused to play hardball to fully defund ObamaCare. By doing so, they are allowing Pelosi's "mandatory" self-funding provisions -- which many say are unconscionable if not unconstitutional -- to stand! This will force this Congress to approve most of the funding for ObamaCare.
FoxNews says King's provision would "cripple all government operations devoted to executing the health law."
DEBATE BEGINS THIS AFTERNOON.
Pete Sessions, figures the one that forgot to take his oath on time.
SURPRISE...looks like the new Republicans are like the old ones...I am at a point that unless they become what most of us thought we were electing to never vote for another one.
I fail to see any difference than this from dems other than degree for all the difference that makes...
How would that be different from anything else the GOP is looking to defund in their budget? I mean $100B in seven months has to put an end to more than a few programs.
Thank you for additional confirmation Laz
According to earlier reports, Rep. Virginia Foxx was the ringleader.
Not good. Trying to remember the name of the person in charge of the rules committee. Maybe David Dryer? Not sure of the spelling.
I am not exploding, but honestly, that quote does nothing to reassure me : / It sounds as if we are being patted on the head, and told not to worry our little selves, that they will get to it in their own good time...
Next post - names and the Rules Committee phone number - they need reminding that there is no time like the present ; }
We got guys sleeping in the mud dodging IEDs in Afghanistan, and these guys, sipping cocktails in their leather chairs, can't muster the 'courage' to vote FOR the Constitution?!
Primary EVERYBODY!
Why wait until dawn?
I really don't like option number 2.

I saw the excerpt of that, but hadn’t the time to read the story this morning. Do you have the link?
Rep Virginia Foxx is apparently more concerned about avoiding the attacks from Dims and the media if they were to change the rules or override the rules than she is about the destruction of the USA by Obamacare.
How can a “Rules” committee trump the RULE OF LAW?
ANSWER: They can’t.
The Health Care Law has been ruled by the court to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Therefore it “has no standing” in any government budget bill!
The Administration wants it in the budget...then they need to get their butts to court.
Sincerely,
AN AMERICAN WHO UNDERSTANDS THE RULE OF LAW.
Give me a red pen and watch how fast the DeathCare funding disappears. So would Dept. of No Energy, Dept. of No Education, HHS, etc.
This unconstitutional POS legislation was pushed through bribes, lies and intimidation. Lots of people were voted out of Congress for it. Apparently not enough people got defeated.
Good memory! See post 53 for information :)
This will not be solved though legislation for there is no will. At this point, they can choke on their 2012 campaign coffers; the only thing I have for anyone up there is a different alternative.....
