President Obama bid farewell on Friday to Robert Gibbs, one of his first aides and closest friends, with a parting tribute to his press secretarys fashion sense.
Obama finally returned the light blue tie he borrowed from Gibbs to wear at the 2004 Democratic National Convention locked in a glass frame for posterity.
"I wanted this on the record, on camera," Obama said. "I'm finally returning Robert's tie."
Gibbss signature pastel-colored clothing has long occupied the fashion pages of Washington papers, but now the president has confirmed that the baby-blue tie won the approval of the first lady and the once-senior-adviser David Axelrod.

Good-bye to the Communist Dough-boy
Typical lefty in pastel colors. Where’s mauve?
Darn right. Everyone is holding back because of ‘civility’. Not me. They all should die for what has been done to this nation and that includes REPUBLICANS & dimwits.
This little snot nosed bast*rd has been rubbing the communist manifesto in our faces with glee.
It is with glee that we would see him dangling from a noose. And if I don’t speak for anyone else, then it is with glee I would see him dangling (and kicking).
Obama makes my skin crawl.

Gibbs ate one for the Gipper.
Oh, no, that's not it...
He flew one for the Gipper
Something like that...
He swam one for the Gipper?
Dammit, he did something for the Gipper!
Oh yeah, He took one for the Gipper.
That sounds right. Let's go with that...I guess?
As long as it has 'Gipper' in it...that's all I care about.
