Creators Syndicate George W. Bush must have been the despair of the history department of every school his daddy managed to get him into.
Consider his latest excursion into the history of the republic, at Southern Methodist, where the Great Man's papers are to be housed.

I know this post will be met with a barrage of pithy "Pat is a Nazi" retorts, but Bush's historical illiteracy combined with his smarmy condescension he reserves for the hoi polloi is disgusting.
I hope the Bush brand of conservatism that left him with a 35% approval rating and paved the way for Obama is forever discredited.

Pat is a xenophobic protectionist.
W is a free spending, open borders advocating, unfair trade promoting, compassionate "conservative".

Problem is, Buchanan has at least a ten-year head start on Bush.

Had the corrupt Ryan (IL-drivers license sales) stepped aside, BO would likely not have gotten a start!

Pat Buchanan is indefensible, but that doesn't mean everything he says is wrong. He may be a Nazi, but Bush is unquestionably historically illiterate and insufferably condescending. He left the conservative movement for dead having nearly destroyed it with his feckless foolishness. Now would be a good time for him to maintain radio silence. The sooner we can forget the nightmare of the Bush years, the better.

I agree. Pat has done less that is good for the country though. (Hurt it less too, but what would JF’K, or ManBearPig have done to the country?).

I would gladly trade the nightmare of the Bush years for the night terrors I have with the current administration.

Well, you’re as far off as you can get. I met with the man for an hour and a half in the White House and he displayed more “Historical Literacy” than Buchanan ever had in his life. Indeed, prior to Obama, the Bush plan in Iraq-—even if an accident-—as the ONE way we could win the WoT, by sucking every jihadist in the world into one place. Buchanan has spent too much time with Scarborough and his brain is indeed Nazified.

For the longest time (I don’t know if it still is, and don’t care), Buchanan’s main gig was as a “Republican analyst” on MSNBC. Ponder what that means for a minute.

For eight years, Bush pursued interventionism, free trade and open borders. Result: two wars that have bled his country and reaped a harvest of hate, the deindustrialization of America and a republic on its way to becoming the new world order's Tower of Babel Compassionate Conservatism is just another "ism" created by K street liberals to co-opt the Republican party.
We get Democrat or Democrat.
