Moose-shell is reminding me more and more of Elena Ceausescu by the day.

True story: Marie Antoinette built a tiny village for herself and some chosen friends. They could retire to the hamlet and "play dairy maid" for awhile when the palace life at Versailles became too much.

From such things are revolution born.

Anyone remember the Spain trip and how much EACH of those hotel rooms cost per night? Did I mention that they rented the entire castle?

And that the reason they gave for going was they wanted to show Sasha THE RAIN IN SPAIN?

I didn’t make that up.

I don’t have $495 in my garden boots, garden tools, and garden COMBINED. I just make do with the $40 pair of work boots I picked up at Wally World, along with the $11 shovel from same.

Yep, those boots were made for walkin’ all over us. This woman wouldn't know a garden from a gorilla. Has anybody ever found out why she lost her law license?

Alright there’s little about this woman that doesn’t annoy me. But is this one of those damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t? If she put on a pair of old workboots from Target are people going to accuse her of wearing Made in China slave labor crapola?

Folks that are spending time aggravated by or worrying about what kind of shoes the first lady wears need to get a hobby, some friends, or a life in general. If she had worn an old, shabby pair of tennis shoes, the very same folks here complaining would be making comments about how embarassing she was for wearing torn-up shoes.

Most American raising crops have the fertilizer on the outside of the boots.

I believe the Obama’s know in their hearts that being Presidential is a one-night stand for them and they are milking the benefits.

“Michelle Obama’s $495 Gardening Boots Irk Me”

The media frenzy over their eating vegetables from the White House garden is a lie - and that irks me. They got ‘em at the grocery store.

This is like the Marxist Muslim saying Americans are too warm in winter, too cool in summer, too well fed and too well medicated, while explaining away the elevated thermostat in his own quarters as due to his coming from a warm climate.

Funny thing is that when her kids were dragged around at Martha's Vineyard, they had tennis shoes without laces on their feet.

Must be a danger to themselves if they eat french fries and feel guilty.

Did she spend even one minute in that garden when she wasn't surrounded by TV cameras and Potemkin children? Did she do any mundane weed pulling and vegetable watering when the cameras weren't around? Or (vastly more likely) was all of that menial work handled by the White House grounds crew so it would be ready for when she put on her $500 boots and brought in another truckload of children for the harvest?

when working in my gardens or even doing basic yard work in the summer I wear a pair of orange flip flops. I bought them for $1.00 at the Dollar General Store about 3 yrs ago. I also go barefoot a lot. In cooler weather, I wear my $3 canvas sneakers. I cannot think of one reason I would spend 400+ dollars on garden boots.

I’ll keep my rubber clogs from Southern States for gardening. I’d love to have the $500 for plants/seeds though.
