Robert Gibbs Doesn't Take Birther Bait In Sarah Palin's Egypt Remarks
Mediaite ^ | 02/09/2011 | Tommy Christopher

Apparently, Lawrence O'Donnell isn't the only one who needs a Sarah Palin translator. At Wednesday's White House briefing, I asked Robert Gibbs if he thought Palin's remarks to CBN, in which she suggested President Obama doesn't know “what America stands for,” were a dog-whistle to the Birther movement, questioning the President's American-ness, and if this [...]...posted using frpa

She baited the Gibblet? If Sarah is fishing, she catches what she is going after. I doubt she wants any stinky sucker Gibblet fish.

Doesn’t sound like ‘birther bait’ to me. She simply understands that Obama looks at the world with a European slant, NOT an American one.

Anyone who hasn’t a clue why many believe Obama does not understand America, amidst ALL the evidence that he doesn’t(and worse), isn’t worth the breath it would take to enlighten him.

From the article. The Birthers’ level of discredit makes it risky to actively court them, but not-so-subtle messages like Palin’s hit the mark, while retaining some Birther deniability.

The "level of discredit" are only in the minds of the OBots and the delusional which is about 99% of the lame stream media.

There are plenty of us non-birther conservatives who understand Obama chose to surround himself with good old-fashioned, Chomsky reading, SDS indoctrinated, tenured professor educated, American born and bred America-haters.

There was no “dog whistle”...Palin was pointing out the obvious...Obama does not represent the American culture that most of us know and love. The reporter is trying to create a story where none exists.

A “dog whistle” would only serve to alert Liberal women......

“asked Robert Gibbs if he thought Palin’s remarks to CBN, in which she suggested President Obama doesn’t know ‘what America stands for,’ were a dog-whistle to the Birther movement”

What is people’s obsession with code words, “dog-whistle[s],” hidden messages, etc.? No doubt they actually exist, but they’re not everywhere. Politicians have trouble enough expressing their true thoughts, let alone dodging the usual rhetorical pitfalls. Do we really think they’re that shrewd?

Indeed. One can believe that Obama is simply an America-hating leftist (redundant?) while also disavowing the birther brigade.

Conservatism is better described as Americanism,

and 0bama does not adhere to;
it’s something he opposes.

we have all kind of dog whistle to our nazi base. When he advocate for freedom, we really mean control. When we voice against racism, we really mean the opposite

When Liberals advocate for control, they really mean freedom. When they advocate for discrimination, they really mean the opposite

Uh, no. Sometimes, when we say somebody doesn’t know what America stands for, we mean...he doesn’t know what America stands for. And Teh Awesome does not in fact appear to be clueful about that subject. This is an entirely separate subject from his constitutional eligibility. There are folks out there who are unquestionably ineligible who get it more than he does.

Oh yeah, Palin as we do, know he is a foreigner. Obama told us he is a "citizen of the world" in Berlin, Germany. Does his very first interview as pResident on Arab television Al Arabiya. Went to Kenya as a US Senator to actively coordinated with his cousin Odinga in his run for the Kenyan presidency in 2006. Used the same campaign slogan "Vote for Change" as his Kenyan cousin Odinga, and Obama is culpable for the Kenyan blood spilled in the muslin riots after Odinga lost.
