Sarah Palin's big problems among the GOP faithful are on clear display in a new poll that shows large numbers of Republicans arent sure about her and the tea party darling trails President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup in Tennessee even with the president's job approval numbers running low in the state.
The poll in the solidly red state where she and McCain crushed Obama by 15 points two years ago is a warning bell that Palin, despite her following and appeal to conservatives, remains fairly radioactive to some Republican voters, who are far from convinced she can win in 2012.

A lot of people say that same type of thing but yet they can’t come up with one candidate that is as inspiring, devoted, proud, determined, dedicated, principled, loyal, intelligent, sassy, classy, gutsy candidate as her. I just don’t get it. We will never find one candidate all of us agree on but I don’t see why we continue to put down this one candidate that has just about every attribute a Conservative would want....including the fact the liberal media hates her.
Wow! He must be a great candidate to make such an impression.
I would like to see the methodology on this one. 710 PEOPLE??
“The Vanderbilt University poll surveyed 710 people, according to The Tennessean newspaper.”
What kind of people? What are their affiliations? What population was surveyed? Where was the survey concentrated?
There are Lies, damn lies and statistics... for some reason that phrase is sticking in my mind.
Good points!
Did you see the methodology they published, 710 PEOPLE.... What kind of people? Voters? Likely voters? Vanderbilt students? WHAT people?
BOGUS poll. Thats what I think.
didn’t seem to help the people in CA in 2010 make the right choice. As far as the poll goes it’s hogwash.
Seriously delusional if you are comparing Palin to RR. She couldnt even be his press secretary. Seriously.
Latest Journolist tactics:
1. Republican “contender” (who is not Sarah Palin) of the week
and now
2. The daily fake poll of a “red state” where Sarah Palin is losing badly to Øbama.
Yawn.
Journolist: just because they have been outed, doesn’t mean they’ve disbanded.
Tennessee has a House, Senate and Governor that are all republican controlled, first since 1870. They do have power. Bredesen did a decent job, the State must pick their battles wisely and keep us forward on business. They must also confront Washington, and they can.
Me too, altough I have two other “sit it out” triggers: 2nd Amendment and Romney.
“The paper points to the fact that the survey was taken soon after the shooting of Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and more than a dozen other people in Tucson, Ariz.”
Given a little campaiging by Sarah and the poll would have been reversed.
Vanderbilt did this poll?????? Crap - I missed that part. People, please. Trust me on this one! When Vanderbilt does a poll you can count on the results being so left leaning.... as Rush would say “don’t doubt me”.
Good point. I always vote on downticket candidates. I meant “sit out” metaphorically...
