ElBaradei: The Israelis Have A Peace Treaty With Mubarak, Not With The Egyptian People
The Business Insider ^ | 2/6/2011 | Gregory White

Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the key leaders of Egypt's protest movement, has brought his country's peace treaty with Israel into doubt in an interview with Der Spiegel.

From the Der Spiegel Interview:

SPIEGEL: Are you now saying that a government that included participation by the Muslim Brotherhood would continue on with Mubarak's policies toward Israel?

ElBaradei: No. Something the Israelis also need to grasp is that it's impossible to make peace with a single man. At the moment, they have a peace treaty with Mubarak, but not one with the Egyptian people. The Israelis should understand that it is in their long-term interest to have a democratic Egypt as a neighbor, and that it is prudent to

I think our military would revolt and remove the usurper from power if ordered to attack Israel.

Yu see this is the Obama meme.Bahbleedi is in Obama’s pocket. He is a traget as well, almost assassinated.

The law of Egypt duly invokes a treaty with Isreal.

Democracy as a concept is being used to foment a fundamentalist take over of Egypt. Egyptians for the most part are content to be at peace, and not always fighting like Hamas does. They do not mind having a treaty with Israel, it means peace.

Beratetie is using the fascist way, political correctness
to stir up support for eventual war and destruction of Israel, instead of following the law of Egypt.( This is the Obama technique) Why then does he not convene a meeting with the representative body and nullify the treaty with Israel by vote in parliament? Thats what a man dedicated to democracy would do.

Bahbleedie just signed his own death warrant.

I give him another month at most, before he is no more.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. Mubarak is on his way out at this point. That is inevitable. Any open support in which the US government provides to him will seriously damage any potential relation with moderate Egyptian groups in the future. If America is to support Mubarak now even moderate groups would look bad recieving support from America at a later date since the Muslim brotherhood could use it against them by saying that this organization sides with the nation that wanted to deny the people their freedoms.

I'm sure thet the Israelis now grasp that it is impossible to make peace with an Arab Nation.

War between Islimic countries is inevitable. The problem they have is the West supplies their weapons.

I wonder if the Palestinians realize that the breakdown of relations between Israel and Egypt leaves Gaza in an untenable position?

Really the sad thing is the deterioration of respect for continuity. Israel doesn’t have a peace treaty with Mubarak, and not with the Egyptian people, but with Egypt. If governments could cancel treaties every time the leadership changes then treaties would be worthless.

Yes, sadly many internationalistas will go along with this clown, who helped Iran cover up the scope of its Nucelar arsenal and is trying to usurp the role of Egytpian leader before even being elected and while not even having lived there for the last decade or more. More Europeans know his name than Egyptians.

And sadly our President sold our ally down the river after just a few days of protest. I’m not saying Mubarak was a friend or a good guy but he was am ally, and we should have and could have worked to help him transition out instead of literally publicly rebuking him and his proposal for September elections. I mean, what did SS Clintona and POTUS Obama think... that Egypt would just hold elections next Tuesday? They need time to create parties, campaign, register voters etc etc... Why our policy was to seek his ouster immediately is beyond me. But I digress.

one of the key leaders of Egypt's protest movement

Someone is planting this meme throughout the media. Mohamed ElBaradei is a dangerous stooge, who's worked against America's interests everywhere he's had the opportunity.

You can bet he'll be Obama's top pick to replace Mubarak.

But socialism is not the end goal behind the scenes in Egypt, it is theocracy.

And it is going to be high time we define theocracy as a form of government. Can a theocracy be a democratically selected form of government.

The answer to that is YES. Do not be fooled by Afghanistan or Iraq, read the first few lines of their 'new constitutions.' They are theocracies.

The kind of elections they are talking about will not be representational, but that of mob rule. Factions and representatives of factions will be elected, not regional representation. This is exactly why our founders attempted to give us a republic.

And on a lesser note it is why I despise the 'party loyalty' ideas of our own modern government.

Agree completely. By the evidence I have seen, only Christianity and Judaism can support representational rule, respect for private property, etc.
