“Why would they quitely disperse when they are asking for him to go now? They know him and know if everyone goes home it will be buisness as usual.”
Ah, so because the mob wants him to go, therefore that’s the correct response. I want Obama to go- would it be acceptable then for a mob of millions of Americans to rush to D.C. and throw Molotov cocktails until he resigns? As much as I dislike him, I would say absolutely not. Why is this amorphous mob somehow any better than the current despot- they could be worse. The MB announced a month ago they were going to help organize this- but you don’t want to hear that...
And it’s not like we’re dealing with a rinky dink country here- for Obama to assume that there can be an almost overnight transition is ludicrous. They have billions of dollars worth of military equipment, and we’re just expecting it to be handed over...to somebody...who knows who at this point?
And as to your other point, are you there in Cairo? Do you really know how accurate your info is?

I hear you on that, as long as we keep in mind that Al-Jazeera has a big time agenda here, too. They've been on a crusade against American-backed Arab governments, and have been cited in a number of sources as one of the common instigators of all of the current Arab revolts. They are certainly not objective observers of events in Egypt.
That said, I still think Al Jazeera is a valuable source of information so long as one considers the source - as one should always do with every source. They certainly have more reporters on-site than just about anyone else.

If true the fire may be intended to cover up the fact the museum was already looted
Look for a few new “Tut” items on eBay soon

As one commenter said on the Fox News website: “They’re cutting off their face to spite their nose.”
Even as a Christian I can appreciate the artifacts and rich history of Ancient Egypt.
If the radical Islamists get in power, they’ll probably blow up the Pyramids after looting them first.

so anyone carrying a pro-Mubarak sign is really a “pro-mubarak” demonstrator?
classic strategy of terrorists to make the other side look like the bad guys
remember what they tried to do to the tea party here

They are also giving perspectives from both sides, and its all live. At least for this event, they seem to be the most fair and balanced!
They are bringing on people from both sides, but they are certainly wearing their editorial perspective on their sleeves.
A pretty contentious interview right now between the Al Jazeera anchor and Marc Ginsberg - Clinton's former ambassador to Morocco who is best known for his many appearances on Fox News. The Al Jazeera guy is all but demanding that Americans quit worrying about the Muslim Brotherhood and just demand that Mubarak step down. While Ginsberg seemed ultimately to agree that Obama should call for Mubarak to step down, he refused to downplay American concerns that Mubarak would be replaced with an Islamist regime.

I found the last quote from the article quite revealing about the author.
Let the egyptians destroy the antiquities becasue they’re poor, illiterate, and they don’t glorify islam?
IT just struck me as and odd statement, as though the world has no interest in these artifacts.

I heard on the news that an executive for google who had totally gone native, i.e., joined the demonstrators, disappeared last week and hasn’t been heard from since. Lotsa stuff going on that we aren’t hearing about. Frank Gaffney nailed it, I think it was him, last night on Hannity when he said that the Egyptions don’t understand why they keep trading one dictator for another, but the reason is shari’a law, not the dictators themselves. If they want a democratic future they need to be hanging the brothers from the lampposts and construction equipment.
BTW, I pray God Mubarak is able to hang on till September so there can be what that rat in the white hut claims to be seeking — an orderly transition. If he steps down now, there will be a vaccuum and a bloody, savage civil war. Best time to beat the brothers is NOW.
Maybe the military will step in and run the country via military junta. We can only hope.

Rioting muslims destroyed the library at Alexandria. This has been going on for centuries. There weren't any muslims in 48 BC.
To: ichabod1
At this point, that looks like the best option.
I don’t know anything about what has been going on in Egypt in the last 30 years, but most of us would agree that an Islamist state would be the WORST thing to happen.

Case in point why the artifacts should stay in the British Museum. Exactly. It will be at least five-ten years before the Muslims in Britain riot and burn London.

Chris, the only ones “fighting for democracy” in this affair are the useful idiots. They will be the first to be lined up and shot when they accomplish their goal of removing all stabilizing influences from their nation.

Guess that means you’re on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood and the marxists.
Don’t bother responding. I have zero respect for your kind.
