A friend aske me why the people of Egypt would do this to their own heritage.

I answered that the people of Egypt are not doing this, that the protest was taken over by outside Islamic agitators being directed by Iran. I said that they are behaving just like the Taliban in Afghanistan, that is, they are destroying historic relics of the people in order to replace them with their own cultural icons, the way that Muslims destroy Christian churches and build their mosques over them in victory.
